I was just thinking, when federer held that trophy in his hand, do you think it felt half as good, as if Aggasi was holding it? I mean, being 35 years old, I think Andre would have felt so much better....

I dunno... I think they'd both feel great about it... kinda hard to rate it on a scale how they felt.

It would be cool to see Agassi win... but it was the other guy's turn.

Even when Agassi could do no wrong late in the second set and early in the third, you still had the feeling it was just a matter of time until Federer woke up and became the unbeatable perfect tennis machine that he usually is. The man (Federer) is just on another level.

That being said, I think it would have been amazing to see Agassi hoist that trophy. To do that at age 35 against the undisputed best tennis player in the world (possibly even all time) would have been astounding. Unfortunately, we (and I think even Agassi) all knew that would be near impossible. I was rooting for the underdog knowing full well he didn't have a snowball's chance in hell.

That sounded like it came right out of the comentators' mouth. Agassi was a great success story, much like Armstrong though you don't have a strong American crowd within a 300-foot radius of the location. Cheerin' for old guys is cool.

Federer is nowhere near the personality of Andre either... Andre's always been seen as a fun, personable guy, and the fact that he's been a ranked American player for dogs years, well he's got a good little following.

Agassi is actually one of the largest celebrity/athlete endorsement guys in the world.

He totally lost if after Fed broke him for Set 3. Fed did that to his previous opponent as well.

I would have loved to see Agassi win and then retire at a high point, but Federer finally just started doing what he does best.
