    Military Conversion

So I'm coming home after my military deployment. I bought nearly $800 in MOLLE Gear that I bought for myself. I'm trying to think about the best uses of the equipment for paintball.

I have canteen holders and sustainment pouches. How long are the ammo tubes? I'd like to try and find some that I can use with my existing equipment. I have a Nalgene Bottle holder that will work as a remote HPA holder.

Gimme some ideas! Thanks in advance to any other vets that have done this already.

Not quite familiar with all the gear you have a Blackhawk Tac vest with pouches designed for M16 magazines, and they have enough stretch that I can fit 100rd pods into them. Not the greatest fit, but not bad.

      Pouches

I have a few M-16 double-mag pouches that are on the front of the vest. I then have two sustainment pouches that are twice as tall (16") as the pouches on the front of the old ALICE large rucks.

I was thinking about a few Nalgene holders. They hold the 32 oz. Nalgene bottles and they have drawstrings on them. I was thinking dump sacks for the empty tubes but I'd have to have something to carry the full tubes in the first place.

Maybe I'm thinking too hard. I'm going out with an A-5 with an RT. I'm not used to carrying more than 210 rounds of ammo on me. How much paint am I going to need to carry. Maybe I'm thinking for a 2-3 day long MilSim if such a thing exists.

Sounds like those double mag pouches are what I have on mine, and the sustainment poiches will enable you to carry larger pods still. As for how much you need to carry, it depends on you style of play. Most of the time I carry whats in my Halo and Warp, along with 1 more pod, unless its a scenario game or speedball, and then I carry 2-3 poda total.

          You BOUGHT issue gear?

          LOL!

I bet you were a little surprised when CIF and RFI gave you lots of new stuff, huh?

            Surprised?

Uh, that's a negative. RFI gave us DCU's from a previous deployment. We got greenland vests with all of the frills but no MOLLE/PALS gear to attach to it. We have standard issue ALICE large rucks and Altama boots. You can guess what all of the rest of the equipment looks like.

Maybe things will get better when we get sand in our boots to climatize but there are no guarantees.
