Cab fares in CT?

A friend of mine is going to CT--Hartford in Particular. He wants to know what the cab rates are like. He's staying with a buddy, and he's going straight from the airport to his school.

Can anyone help me out with what kind of money he will have to dish out? Thanks a lot.

The Hartford area I don't know, but I know when I was stationed in the Groton area a few years ago it was usually around $12 if I remember correctly to go from base to the mall, about a 5 mile ride I think it was.
