What school discriminates against women? In particular based on nothing more than there gender? Which school has, recently, past over a more qualified woman (or minority) in favor of the next best qualified male (or non-minority)? Who was passed over? Why have they not taken action for damages?

Honestly? I have no idea. I can ask if you want, I don't have class until next Tuesday though.

I'm not trying to be a jerk, and maybe its a lack of empathy. I often enough hear the idea "this happened because I'm ___________" rather than for a credible reason. Passing the bar for example has nothing to do with who you are, it is about what you know and your attributes. I would like to beleive the same thing is true of admission to schools, in fact the law as I understand it gives certain individuals more regard than others. That being said I understand a political system (such as appointing / electing judges) is going to have some things in it that are not right.

I live in FL by the way... this is my first violation of the law besides 1 or 2 kerfue infractions way back when in North Carolina... What should I expect to happen in court!! What will happen to me!?

And you had been drinking, as well, don't forget that part.

He wasn't cited for it, which means he would most likely walk on that particular point.

Hopefully the cop will speak to the judge and ensure he gets nailed to the wall for driving without a liscence.

Ready for this, without a lawyer most everything will be decided before you open your mouth based on the judges first impression and the discussion he will have already had with the officer / DA - trust me on that.

It is possible that the officer won't make it to court. There was a stat in one of the more prominent car magazines (Car and Driver I believe) that said something like 75% of all violations that get taken to court get thrown out or beaten due to various reasons. Thats pretty significant. The point is moot anyway since he is either in or done with court. Hopefully we'll get an after action report soon. I think it will be interesting to see what the outcome was.

This isn't that sort of violation. Driving without a valid license and driving underage (at 3 in the morning no less) is a much bigger deal than most traffic violations. I'm very surprised that he wasn't arrested right away.

I have to write a 500 word essay on the importance of a Drivers License, and do another little thing involving crime articles... No court fee's or anythin.

                            I hate to say it but I am not to surprised he got off that easy. I drove a friend to court a couple weeks ago and the person in front of him was there for;

                            1 -- No license.
                            2 -- No insurance.
                            3 -- Expired plates.
4 -- The plates were not issued to the vehicle he was stopped in.
                            5 -- Running a stop sign.
6 -- Various others small things the cop threw on (cracked windshield, broken third tail light, no emissions sticker, etc)

The guy was told to attend a drivers improvement course and pay court costs. Talking to a cop that was there for another case he said that they were so booked with cases the judge was just slapping people on the wrist to get them in and out as fast as possible. He said something like 3/4 or more of the cases the cops dont even bother to show since they know the judge wont hand out much more than telling the person to attend driver improvement.

One of my friends one time got pulled over riding a go-kart on a public road

                              1) No liscense (either him or the vehicle)
                              2) No insurance
                              3) Not road legal for many many reasons.

Cop looked at him, told him she did not have time for this, mentioned she was driving off in one direction and told him she did not want to see him.
