    Lost snake found again

Some of you know this, But most don't.

About two, three months ago, I had a Ball Python named Kitty have a rash of escapes. In most of them, he was found in a few minutes-- usually in my dresser drawers.

However, after about a week of nightly escapes, I awoke one morning to a Kitty that, after three plus days, couldn't be found. We all looked for about a week, no dice.

About ten minutes ago I walked in my room and went to turn on the night light for my frog...

to find Kitty draped over the light and the back of my monitor.

He's in good good shape, considering. He's about half the weight he was when he got out, which was almost 4lbs. A little dehydrated, and a little stressed, but otherwise none the worse for the wear.

Unfortunately, it's getting close to 1:30 in the morning..and I have class tomorrow..and I need to figure out where to put him until the morning.
    Such a sham(e).

I used to have an iguana that would do the same thing. One time, he was on top of my stereo receiver (inside ent. center) and his tail blended in with all the cables in back. I looked for him for about 2 hours before I found him. Never lost him longer than that though.
Glad you found Kitty and he's okay.

My friend lost his snake one time. I slept over that night too, that was kind of weird. He thought his snake was dead because it was missing for 3 weeks and it was late fall early winter. One day when he waas outside going into a car he found his snake in the grass. The thing had insolation all over it. It was living in the walls for 3 weeks.

As for what to do for it, I know it's the next morning, but maybe put it in your dresser?
I knew not what I did but am now edumacated

Eh, we found a rubbermaid tub with a locking lid, he seemed more than happy to chill in there.

MadPsience: I picked him up and checked him out healthwise to make sure he wasn't injured..Maybe beint somewhat fearless is a reptile owner thing

Snakes are sweet. One of my friends used to have a ton of em, thet had ceiling high wall terrarium things all over their living room, one of their snakes was 10 feet long, it was an albino something or other. They would throw in whole rabbits and it grabbed em out of the air before they hit the ground. It was insane.

Someone in my town lost a ridiculously huge burmese python once, I forget how big it was, but it was large enough that they were worried it would eat pets and/or small children or something like that.

They found it in my neighbors basement.

I lost a hermit crab in the house once. Not scary, but annoying as a kid sister. At night you could hear it clicking over the wood floors.

That was the greastest story you ever told me.

Yeah, burms are notorious for 'wandering' when they feel like it. They can get large enough to constrict and kill small children, but generally not eat, unless it's an infant.

Haha, I know! You'd think they'd be easy to find, but really, they can dissapear if they need to. Ball pythons are another breed notorious for their escapes.

Heh. Reminds me of one time at a woodsball field I was playing at (and running, actually...) when someone started screaming "SNAKE! SNAKE!" Everyone on my team's looking around going "When did we get a snake here?" Turned out he found a dead snake next to him and flipped.
