I need a new electric shaver

Well, my old school norelco goo spitting advantage is just about dead after almost five years of good use. So, what is a good electric shaver (likely will be an xmas pressent). I am also not sure whether to go with the norelco 3 disk style on the linear remington style.

    what do you guys use?

I like my Braun Syncro (whever model) a lot. I suggested it to a friend, and he likes his a lot too. Get the one that comes with the base station that cleans the shaver.

Hey how are those on your skin as compared to like a mach 3? I'm thinking about going electric, but heard they're pretty rough if you get razor burn easily.

They also shave nowhere near as well as a real razor. I find they are ok if you want to be quick and lazy, but if you want to look presentable 8 hours later, you need to use a razor. I shave in the morning before work, and when I used an electric, by the time I got home from work I was just about ready for another shave. I don't have particularly heavy growth or anything, they just don't shave very closely.

For those *****ing about having to shave in a sink, just move your razor to the shower and buy a mirror that sticks to the wall of the shower. I've been shaving in the shower for years, and its much easier, and if you do get any razor burn, sticking your face under a hot showerhead feels a lot better than a hot washcloth (thats what I used to do).

yeah, well i have only used a real razor once (i'll be 25 in a month). I have just always used electric and thats what i prefer.

i am leaning towards a foil based model like the braun's or remingtons. And i think i will go for a self cleaning base (because i am a bit of a gadget geek).

I've shaved in the shower for a few years now and it's the ONLY way for me... You don't have to use shaving cream, there's no mess to clean up, and I can make my blades last forever! LOL I use them until it feels like it's pulling each hair out by the root.

Also if your mirror starts getting fogged up or the water beads up on it so that you can't see you can just take a little bit of shampoo and rub on it and then rinse it off and it will be clear again.

I can't handle electrics. I use the Gilette Sensor II religiously, as I found the Mach 3 to be rougher on my face.

I havent had any razorburn since I came up with my shaving routine. Shave right after a hot shower, then hot water rinse followed immediately by a cold water rinse, with a nice slathering of curel lotion afterwards. Ever since I started that routing, not once case of razorburn, and I used to burn rather easily and badly before.

worst razor ever. the quattro is too freekin rough, with its protection wires and all that jazz, it isnt a comfy shave. i can shave without cream with the m3 in a hurry and still be comfortable.

I cant wait to try out the new gilette 5 blade though.
