Teaching myself Photoshop..

I made 2 desktops, keep in mind this is my first day using photoshop..just playing around with filters...

I can only suggest that you stay away from filters.

Seriously.

No matter how cool you think they look.

Always always always avoid filters.

Edit- This may have seemed harsh. But if you are seriously trying to become proficient with PS, you will realize how good this advice is.

was about to say the same thing.

They look cool at first... but after looking around then you nottice everyone uses them and it just takes away from how well you think of your own work.

Kai is wrong, use MORE filters, also use more lens flares.

Lens flares and random filters are a WINNING combination.

the best site for ps tuts, hands down. they have a ton of beginner tuts too.

Edit: I've learned that doing a random tut (that you don't know how to do) once a day helps tune your skills. try it.
