    passwording computer files

Alright, well i have windows XP home(actually it might be pro now i'll check later). and i was wondering if anyone knew how to make it so that your files could only be accesed by password or while within my own username, because i share this computer with several pepole. However, i would like to keep my files secure to myself. I know theres a way, but i forgot how.
    Thanks

If your an admin on your windows XP, and everyone else is a regulor user.. (kids, guests.. etc) then you dont need to password protect your files since they wont be able to access the admin files.

Another option is just dont have stuff needed to have a password for.

Zero Footprint Crypt is a really good program. Keeps your stuff really secure.

another good thing you may want to consider (if the other users aren't all that compu-litterate) is to make the file hidden. and then just set it so you can't view hidden files. Thats how i hide certain files from my other half that she wouldnt be to happy about.

Be sure you are running NTFS.
Create a User Account in Windows
Create a directory (folder) you want to keep your files in
Right click on that folder and select properties
                    Click the Security tab
                    Remove all accounts
Add the new user account you created
                    Give that user full control
                    Add the group Everyone
                    Give that group no access
Login as the new user account.

Any files placed in this folder will only be able to be accessed by the account(s) that have access.

There are ways around this security, but it's good enough for 90% of the business out there, so unless you have some top secret kiddie porn you are trying to hide, it'll work for you.
