I have a PS2 and XBox... favoring the PS2 for DDR. I was looking at Ignition pads... any suggestions?

Cobalt Flux pads are the closest to real arcade-like pads. They are a lot though, $350.
Ignition pads are great for just starting out and wanting to have some fun, I reccomend getting them now as they are on sale.Comment

get the metal ones. i've had numerous soft pads over the years and i have always found they aren't responsive enough and they are too light and they just slide around on the flood when you try and play some of the 10 steppers on maniac. i've even tried to tape the pads to the floor with no success. i've tried the metal ones, and they are choice. right up there with the actual arcade pads. also, if you get the metal ones, when you get them shipped, GET SHIPPING INSURANCE. a friend had the deliverer somehow snap them in half, would have had to pay 600$ again for 2 new pads. i'm sure if you decide you want the quality pads, you would have done this anyway.Originally posted by MiscueI have a PS2 and XBox... favoring the PS2 for DDR. now this is just me, but i recomend just playing at the arcade. while it does cost more, the machines have tons more songs and better songs then any of the offical U.S. mixes. need i mention disney mix? plus it makes it easier to play doubles when the pads are mounted next to each other.e-mag 226

If you are really into ddr, get the heavy duty pads.
Cant see yourself spending that much money on a controler for only 1 game.. I've heard by putting the pad on some sturdy plywood or something similar, then covering it I foget what they used, I saw it on the internet a while back when I was more into the game, basically soft clear plastic. fix it all in place so the mat doesnt slide around. And your mat will last longer, and give you a better surface to jump on.
found the site.. this will explain it better then I did

Well... I just got this:
I'm a DDR noob... I figure these will be sufficient for now. If I get all crazy with the game... I might get the metal ones... or make them. Hopefully should be fine for a while... I have hard floors too... so should help.
