some drivers are pretty mean here in the bay area.

oh, i just took the SAT at gunn. room V4.

just today, coming home from the orthodontist, i came up to a stop sign. waited for the people with right of way to go, and then i proceded to go. then all of a sudden this lady in an SUV slammed her foot on the gas (she didn't have right of way)(she was on the cell phone and flailing her free hand in the air too) and gave me this really angry look and damn near ran me onto the sidewalk, at a bus stop with many middleschoolers waiting to get a ride. i was half way out into the intersection at the time.
i would hate to run over a group of kids.

its not like i drive an intimidating car or anything. or atleast i dont consider my 1991 light blue volvo very intimidating.

whats wrong with people these days.

Bimmers are still good cars if maintained well. His may need some work, but they are still great cars. I'm by no means a mechanic, but I know enough. My father in law has a 86 325i M5 w/ 145k on it and the car still has lots of power and is still faster than most cars on the road. A nitrous injected evo may be more powerful, but only because of the nitrous. My friend has a 96 525 which I've drove plenty and that car is awesome. It is pretty powerful and handles great. Bimmers are just a car, but they are built better than most and hold value better than most and at 16 years old, a 13 year old BMW is still a great first car. My first car was a 79 Cadillac eldorado that had problems left and right. It was 19 years old when I bought it in 98. I would have taken a 13 year old bimmer any day over that load.

Your comparing a carbureted ancient Cadi out of one of the worst times in US car history to a newer (than it) Bimmer. Not a convincing argument. Besides, in my opinion, Cadi has not made a vehicle that aged well in a long long time - I make a lot of money from those too

This fascination with German cars is simplistic and wrong in my opinion. I worked for a Mercedes dealer for awhile too... There pieces of equipment, designed to do whatever they do, and they all have there issues. Nothing more, nothing less

Um, there are no '96 5 Series.

There are '95s (the e34) and the '97s (the e39) but no '96's

that being, I wub my '95 540i. And so does my mechanic.

It may be a 95. If theres no 96, It could be a 97. I'm pretty sure its newer than a 95. I'll find out for sure though. I'm not trying to start an argument here, but of course a bimmer is better than a 79 Caddy. I was just saying that a bimmer is a cool first car to have. They are great cars too. They are just as reliable as the jap cars and don't rot out like some of them do. The only down side is they can be quite expensive to fix. In most cases though, if you can afford a bimmer, you can afford the maintenance as well.

while we are talking about cars my friend just built a truck. well, its in the making. 600 hp.. you start it and it rumbles. that thing is a beast. it will shake alot if you rev it, and it doesent even have a dashboard in it yet... its really cool.

BMWs / Mercedes / Audis / etc are status symbols. They are mechanically no better than the better American (I don't want to hear how its better than any 75-85 American car, or Festiva, etc - I'm talking the comparable American cars) and Japanese cars. Your misguiding yourself into trying to think you are less vain.

They are status symbols - expensive status symbols. If you are buying one for that reason, wonderful. If your buying it because you think its a mechanical "tank" or something... yeh, you need help in reevaluating your decision.

                          Ghetto rigged motor mounts?

There's a lot of things that will make something shake.

In the case of Joe Blow the backyard 'mechanic', power is usually the last reason.

Cmon bro you mean to tell me you didnt do anything to piss them off? I mean if you say you didnt then whatever those guys are probably just bein punks but that kinda **** doesnt just always happen. Usually you gotta do something, or they gotta think you did something you know.

But yea if you dont want that happen again just keep somethin under your front seat you know. It doesnt have to be a gun. If your only 16 that will get you a strike in the great state of Cali. This is what I used to do. Go to the gas station and get one of those windshield washers you know...the thick plastic ones where the wiper part unscrews and your left with the handle. They have them sitting out next to the pumps. Just keep one of those in your car and if you ever get into a mess like that just unscrew the wiper part real quick and use the handle to fight with. Its a light handle and like a thick plastic but you can really mess someone up with em. It swings real fast too. The reason something like that is good because when you get pulled over you cant get in trouble with it. Like if you have a baseball bat sitting in your car some cops will call that a weapon if you dont have like baseballs and gloves with it you know. Your other option is like pepper spray. You might think im kidding unless you've actually seen people get sprayed or mased. They go down hard.

Anyways sorry that happened bro you dont seem like the type of guy that would start a fight so it was probably just some punks.

Smells all fishy to me and I ain't talking about the good kinda fishy...

Is there any state in the nation that would allow a concealed weapon permit at even 18? I don't think so.... I think its like 21 for a handgun ownership AND permit to carry.

But... someone needs to get a tag number. And someone had to have witnessed it all from that school. So I am wondering whats up with this whole story. Sorry... but my BS meter is pegged.
