Here is a link to the only "Vid" so far, which is more like a slideshow. But you get the gist. The smurfs are singing their song in Dutch(?), then you hear the whistling of the bombs and see the smurf huts exploding. Finally, you see baby smurf crying next to Smurfette's corpse. Its really very odd.

According to Yahoo it's a "Keep war from Children" campaign. Not that I can't say I blame them for trying. When was the last time you heard anything "good or helpful" on the news without being completely surrounded by fires, explosions, death, war, and car chases.

Next time the UN asks us for military support I hope we can just send them this video instead.

I think the idea is a noble one, but carpet bombing smurfs?

Well, we know that every North American parent is hoping they do the same to the Teletubbies and BooBahs.

Problem is it'll have the opposite effect. Every parent will be cheering for the bombs.

                          UNICEF started by UN.

Why not? Although I would think they would of brought up a recent cartoon rather then one that (please correct me if I'm wrong) hasn't had a new episode in several years.

It's basically saying stop showing war stuff in front of children. Of course most kids these days see more graphic violence on video games then the news.

It was actually geared towards older people. Their target audience grew up with the Smurfs.
