      Ford festiva all the way. Cheap, disposable, with the engine from a older Escort GT they're fast too.

        Get a Chevy Sprint. They're actually pretty fun to drive get great gas mileage. And if your luck maybe you can find a turbo sprint. But for safty and good insurance a volvo is the way to go.

                Probably a bit much for your first car but if I had $15,000 to spend I would recomend a BMW M3 (1995-1999). Nice sporty great handeling and pretty quick. And you could probably find a nice used one for around $12,000 and if you take care of it maintenance wise it should last quite a while.
