Seems like it would be an ideal inside a vehicle sub gun. That is about the only real advantage I see.

The thing that holds the bullets, is NOT a clip! It is a magazine.

Quit listening to rap music until you learn the difference please.

Please explain the difference. I've never been able to figure it out.

Clips are simple ammunition HOLDING devices.
          (British .303 ammunition clip)

          Magazines are ammunition FEEDING devices.
          (M16/AR15 magazine)

Clips generally are used to fill an internal magazine, and are discarded. (the exception is the M1 Garand "En-Bloc" clip tht became part of the internal magazine). Clips make it logistically easy to issue and carry a known amount of ammunition, as compared to loose rounds in a pouch or pocket. Clips are also used to fill external/replaceable magazines.

Magazines become part of the gun itself, holding ammunition in place for the gun mechanism to use. When empty, the magazine is discarded and replaced with another.

Steel, real MAC-10's will recoil almost straight up. The grip is directly below the center of balance, allowing recoil impulses to easily push the gun back and up. It is not unusual to see new MAC shooter put multiple holes in the range roofs.

The Hollywood portrayal of "gangsta" style shooting of MACs is impossible to do with live ammo. We fired ours using a long front strap that we could step on. Recoil still took them all over the place. .45ACP MACs are the most terrible recoiling weapons I have ever fired.

What you mean Army, is that the Mac10 is easily the worst weapon invented Or one of the worst.

Well the design is flawed then because there is still significant recoil in the videos...

Explosive combustion in a chamber is gonna = recoil.

I would take a P-90 over that goofy contraption anyday!

You guys really need to read the article that was posted along with it. The weapon is a functioning prototype and it fires .45 caliber ammunition. The prototype is simply to show how much recoil the gun doesn't produce. Sure, the gun is going to have some "kick" to it, but it's clearly not trying to "run away" on the shooter. In fact, it is stated that the gun can be fired single-handedly.
I think it's just an awkward design for the people firing it.

The gun was designed for CQB, BTW.

Yes, the MAC series is one of the worst weapon designs ever, in terms of ergonomics and physics.
