    Contacts???

Hey i just got contacts yesterday and had to wear them for 2 hrs now today 4 hrs so on so forth......
    but
when i wear them everything gets even more blurry, the doctor said this is fine and that my eyes just need to adjust to the contacts and the new weight. Is this typical? what happened when you got your contacts?
    Thanks,
    Max

The moment I put my contacts in everything was crystal clear.
I don't know what kind of problems you are having.
Maybe the prescription is wrong? Maybe they are not in correctly?

You might have them in backwards, make sure when they are on the tip of your finger that the ledge of the contact doesn't droop down. If it does flip it inside out and the edge should stand straight up.

you might have them in the incorrect eye, as well.
I got my contacts and I could see the leaves on trees down the block. I loves my contacts.

i would say they are inside out. i doubt the eye doctor messed up so bad as to give you the wrong prescription.
but if they arent inside out, then i would say that you probably need to get used to them... are they clear, or colored contacts?

When I got my contacts ages ago I first put them in and could see quite well, but they bugged my eyes. I finally gave up on contacts because I could never get used to them and my eyes always went nuts. Now I'm back to glasses until I decide to have surgery!

My eyes are still very sensitive to stuff getting in them. I'm around hay almost all day and I can pull tons of puss and crap out of my eyes and like 15 minutes later there will be tons more again. Gross huh?

                extremely.

but yeah i gave up on contacts. i wore them for like the first 2 months i had them, but they made my eyes itch and all that good crap. now i only wear them when i need too (going to concerts, playing paintball) otherwise i just wear my glasses... im nearsighted and my vision is barely off. but its enough to bother me when i need to read road signs

Make sure they're really clean and don't have any protein build up on them. Do you have any eye drops for re-moistening them? I find that mine can get very blurry if they dry out. The environment I'm in is a huge factor as well. If I'm outside, I can wear 'em all day without even knowing they're in, but if I'm inside the office looking at a computer screen all day, they are constantly drying out and they drive me nuts (while looking at a computer screen or watching TV, you tend to blink a lot less). Smokey rooms or bars also really suck for contacts.

it took me aboot a month to get used to having my contacts in all day. After aboot six hrs they would dry up and my eyes would blink them out.

the best thing to do is carry a vial of visine (for contacts) and use it once every couple of hours

but no matter what after a long day, theyre gonna feel pretty grittty.
