IQ is also like measuring "creativity". Its not an exact science. It also depends on time of day, your mood, current health, stress, etc.

I think the only way to get a real solid number saying "my IQ is X" would be to take a test administered by a professional a couple different times at different times throughout a year.

Syn- I was just disagreeing with your statement that IQ tests arent valid if you got them before X years. An IQ test at any age is valid to a reasonable degree.

I only began to truly understand my problem when I started to notice myself unsuccessfully trying to include myself in conversations that didn't exist

HAven't gotten my score yet but I tend to score high. Keep in mind that the IQ is not a true measurement of book smarts but rather a quantitave estimate of what your reasoning skills are.

Many of those questions are not there to see if you get right or wrong but if you can figure out the quickest way of doing it.

It's sort of like taking the SAT's which have absolutely nothing to do with smarts. Anyone with basic math skills and a good understanding of testing skills can score very high in the math portion as I did.

I stink at algebra but I knew that whenever the question had me solving for an X factor I never tried to actually do the problem. Instead I take the middle choice (there are five choices), plug it in to the X value and run the equation. If the answer I get is too high I use one of the smaller numbers, if the answer is to low I use one of the larger answers.

In all I finished my math SAT portion in about half the time of the average in my class, got a higher grade and always did poorly in math.

Just got my email. I scored a 145 which they say is genius. The one thing they note as being of significant note is my computational speed. I completed the test in 7 minutes.

          "Computational Speed

If you can correctly solve a variety of problems faster than another person you may be demonstrating a generally more orderly internal arrangement of your mind's problem solving methods. While speed cannot be the sole factor in determining overall superiority in mental tasks in general faster computational speed will often indicate that a problem's comprehension was more complete. With everything else being equal a person with faster computational speed will be better at tasks that require the synthesis of many bits of information.

Your Computational Speed IQ Score of 155 is exceptionally higher than your General IQ Score.
This score is better than 99.00% of all persons taking this test."

One quick IQ test for all of you:

A bear lives in a house with four walls. Each wall has a window with a southern view. Where does the bear live?"

Email me at [email protected] for the answer or post here if you know it.

there is a reason that mensa and other similar organizations do not accept any scores achieved before 16 years of age

You know, it actually is unfortunate that most people you ask that question to will respond the same way Kaiser did.

Sometimes they'll even think about it for a while and then come to that conclusion and then smugly say "I saw past your trick question."
