the stone moves 4 feet in relation to the ground with each revolution of the logs. at the same time the logs are rolling over the ground, the tops of the logs are pushing the stone forward the same amount (roll your hand over a pop can to see for yourself)Comment

im tempted to leave the 7 letter word problem up over night to see if anyone gets it, its not THAT odd of a wordComment

syn, i think your wrong on the log one...the log only rolls 2 feet....so the top of the log can only push the stone as much as it rolls, 2 feetComment
-
you are exactly right, the log pushes the stone exactly as far as it rolls, 2 feet, plus the 2 feet the log moved forward on the ground.
take a can/pop bottle and place your hand flat on top with the can on its side. roll it forward, see how the can is further back on your hand then when it started? both movements of the logs push the block forwardComment
-
how pray tell was that cheating? it doesn't matter how energy is put into the equation, when the logs spin one full time the block will have moved laterally 4 feet. whether you spin the logs by hand or push the block, the movement is the sameComment
-
embed in the ground? how so, i said the setup is just like a conveyer line, a series of logs side to side for something to roll over

I got a 160. However, IQ has nothing to do with how "smart" you are. We talked about it today in psychology. Most people with really high IQs actually either fail school or do very poorly because they are so bored. Albert Einstein failed math class for cryin out loud! Well, I guess it depends on your definition of smart.
