i was thinking about it... but 400 smackers? thats insane. microsoft is making way too much damn money of this crap. and 60 bucks a game? no. the price of this stuff has driven me away from the new age videogames. im content with playing mario 64 and perfect dark.
Yummy yummy yummy, I've got fun in my tummy.

Boy, wasting money sure is fun, kids! But hey, not everybody has the dozen brain cells it takes to wait until after Christmas to buy one.

Microsoft actually looses millions off of xbox sales.

              This is true.
Also I don't think i can justify spending 300 pounds on the extra hardcore x360 because no release games really interest me at all, the only thing i'd be interested playing is Gears of War.

Also games are getting more expensive because games are more expensive to make, games over the last 10 years have gotten exponentially more complex, mainly graphically, but in terms of stuff like voice acting and things like that, someone actually has to make this content, which usually means more artists and level designers and all that jazz which of course means more moneys, it's virtually impossible to make a good selling modern game today with anything less than a few million dollars. Of course the games industry makes more money than the film industry, so a well selling cheap game will bring in enourmous profit.

Does anyone remember the prices of new Super Nintendo games back in the day(Ok '95 but that was back in the day for me)? I remember saving $70 for Mortal Kombat 3. I don't remember how much Killer Instinct but I'm pretty sure it was near that.

I just sold my PS2, Medal of Honor(the newest one) Red: Dead Revolver, and Gran Turismo 4 to get my Girlfriend a Nintendo DS and Nintendogs... Yeah I know, I know. I just didn't care about the new games coming out anymore. They just don't appeal to me.

oh yeah I remember those days. Remember pay around that much for Street Fight II Turbo, Killer Instinct and a couple of RPGs(around 60-70).

Now games are more hi-tech and are much more expensive to make I wouldn't be complaining about $60 games.

Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo never profit on their consoles. They rely on their 1st party games.

what would be interesting is if they charged 360 for it .
60 isnt too unreasonable for it, considering all you modding thiefs that download the games to your harddrives and each game is like the 7 buck rental fee, if that.

Well the xbox was way expensive when it came out too. Wasnt it like 300 dollars? Now its like 120 or something. Also if I'm not mistaken the games were up in the 50-60 range and now only the highly anticipated ones like halo 2 are up there. Give it time and stop whining.

Im just going to hang back and wait until they crack it like the regular Xbox. Add a bigger HDD and just rent games from Gamefly like I do now and save them on the drive.

That will take the sting out of those $60 a pop games.

Ive played it at my walmart... I work in the electronics dept :P

anywho.. the reason games are so expensive is because sony and microsoft make game developers pay upfront royalties before they sell a single copy of their game....

besides, I heard first party gamers were only $50, other developer's games were gonna be $60.

oh yeah, Call of Duty 2 on a 23" HD LCD tv looks extremely sweet, and is really fun to play.

One of you shops at Walmart, the other works there.
