2.5mm (Cell Phone) HeadPhones? Using the Treo 600 As a Mp3 Player?

Question 1 - Do They Make GOOD Quality Headphones for Cell Phones?
Most 2.5mm headphone jack appliances for cell phones are headsets, 1 speaker, 1 microphone. What I am looking for is your standard line of high quality headphones (like Apple Ipods for example) But to fit in the 2.5mm standard headphone cell phone jack.

Question 1 - Is it a BAD idea to use a Cell Phone (Treo 600) As a Media Player?
Since I recently bought a treo, I love it. I am now pressed with the issue that I want an mp3 player, Im not sure if I should spend 250 on an Ipod.

If I did buy another Mp3 player I would then have to lug around 2 different electronics at all time, both bieng decently large (The Treo is the same size as an 20g Ipod). If I just used my Treo I wouldnt have to lug anything around that I normall wouldnt..

But the reason this is an issue in the first place, is because the only way a Treo can read .mp3, .midi, and ,wav is through a SD Card. SD Cards come in the 16mb-4gb range, I intend to get the 4gb. Having this much amount of storage will allow me to have PLENTY of room for Mp3s, Games, and MOVIES. This is the advantage over having the Ipod... Not to mention the color touch screen...

Basically I know I cant be the only one to try or want to do this, so what has everyone else done?

Good headphone? for a mono based system? designed for phones?

Prolly not going to find it. Phones are designed to be mono and compressed down to 8kbs, not good quality audio stuff.

Your best bet may be to take a good pair headphones and wire it up yourself.

True, so it shouldnt be dificult to wire Apple iPod Earbuds, onto a 2.5mm Headphone jack?

I am going to research the output audio quality via headphone jack right now.

i actually used a headset for nokia phones with my Treo 600, i used it here at work until it died, it was nice cause i could listen to my music in the warehouse and still hear if anyone needed me. it's best if your software has a balance function on it

For the amount you're gonna spend on a 4gb flash card, and in butchering some headphones, you should just grab an ipod.
