Why can't I see foreign military bases and strategic locations? Oh wait, I can see all of the U.S.'s, so it's okay now...

Does anyone else see this as a wee bit of a problem on the national security side of things?

I think that N Korea, or S Korea I cant remember, complained how it showed some of their secret installations and made it public for their 'enemies' to see.

In reality... its all public record buddy. If you want secret do what NATO does. Build the ***** into a mountain. Yeah... we know where the mountain is, but ****... ITS INSIDE A MOUNTAIN MAN!

actual locations for military bases is not secret... if you try to zoom in on one, you notice that it is blurred out.

or at least stuff that needs to be is....

Pearl harbor is cool. You can see the submarines in the dry docks.

The only blurs, are those mapped areas that have not been updated. The image is simply an actual map that is used to fill the voids.

The "cool" part of Pearl, is the USS Arizona and USS Utah (other side of Ford Island) Memorials. Not to mention, the Pacific National Cemetary.

Well, you can see a couple of SR-71s sitting in front of a hangar at Edwards AFB, as well as a B-2 Spirit. I know they aren't always sitting out there.

Even though the locations of military installations, and for that matter, what their primary missions are, are not secret, key installation and building locations should not be so easy to come by.

                            (start rant)
If you think that they should, as a matter of "freedom of information"--just remember those who've died and sacrifice daily to give you that "freedom". Maybe you should have some common decency and respect for the country in which you live. It's not perfect, but I sure as hell don't see any critics leaving to go and live in any other country.
                            (end rant)
