Powerbook wont turn on :'( help please

okay so last night i forgot to plug in powerbook this morning battery is dead. Not a problem i think to myself. plug it in push power button. black screen, the white light on the 'screen release button' is steady then flashes about 4 times and i hear this beep beep beep beep then it stops and all that happens is the light is steady then flashes. Battery is fully charged now. Plugged into a/c... still wont turn on any suggestions would be appreciated.

Try zappping the PRAM. Do this by hitting the power button, then immediatly holding down ctrl - alt - p - r. The machine should restart. Do this three times.

they looked at it reseated ram and stuff
said itd need to be sent in
should be covered under warranty since ive only had it for like 4 months

gonna reformat HD probably..... what a hassle
dont have the money to back it up, well i do but 70$ thats insane

Do you guys have a real Apple store anywhere near you? They can do a lot more to troubleshoot than other stores. And if it need warrenty work, you can just leave it with them.

Also if you have the chance, buy AppleCare on any laptops. It's well worth it.

I had that problem ONCE.

I removed my battery, plugged in my powersource, and turned the computer on.
After it booted up, I plugged my abttery back in.

Worked fine.

eghh im in augusta Ga closest apple store is atlanta...:/ and no i tied the whole battery thing didnt work... had something to do with the ram cause he adjusted it then it booted up normal
he shut down
booted up again went to shut down and it froze. After that he said were gonna need to send it in to apple.... i thought that mabey if he kept adjusting the ram it might work again but eghh dunno i guess not, since he felt the need to send it in
they then called me and said it smelled like syrup?????i told them it was the coffee creamer that i got on my hands and wiped off but still got on it that morning.
In fact that was 2 mornings ago and ive take 2 showers and washed my hands about 50 times and they still smell like that..... its odd but yeah.... im hoping to get it back fixed and soon

Roommate dropped a book on it and busted 3 keys off. Says its gonna be like $300 to fix so I'm debating whether it is worth it.

WOW wonderful i sent it in a month ago.... arrived there DHL nov. 15 from comp usa
apple signed for it.....after that ....apple has no clue where it went there taking three days to look for it and then after 3 days i call them...if they havent found it they said they will ship out a new one. (hopefully with the new screen) if that happens.....
pretty dissapointed in apple, i hope this isnt what they do with all their first time customers.
