This is a basic asking for help to those guys that know me from IAO and most definaltey had a run in with the marshmellow monster.
Yesterday was my son Nathen's 7th birthday. He was happy and histatic most of the day. We threw him a party at Cici's pizza and most of his classmates and friends showed up... Throughout the whole party Nathen kept drawing his attention twards the door as if he was searching for someone. I had an idea of what he was wating for, but did not want to say anything to him during the party as to not upset him. After the party was over and everyone left I was cleaning up and he just kinda slumped down in his chair. At that point I asked him what was wrong and he said "My father doesn't love me anymore". It was indeed what I thought it was. Once again his father (and all his fathers relatives) did not show up. We invited every person we had an email, address, or phone number for on that side of the family. No one came even though about half of them RSVP'd.
I told my son not to be sad for those who didn't come but be happy for everyone that could come. I also told him that there are a bunch of people out there that really like him and just live to far away to be at the party. I used my brother who is stationed elsewhere and my boyfriend (who was sent away on a buisness trip at the last minute) as examples. They both sent birthday wishes via email and snail mail. It cheered him up for a bit but this morning he was crying and upset again. I just couldn't seem to calm him down before school.
Ok to the point.
I was just hoping that one or two of the people that met my son would be so kind as to send an email addressed to Nathen just giving him birthday wishes. He is a pretty good reader and really enjoyed reading the emails from the afor metnioned guys. they can be sent to...
