Obviously blaming the victim works. That's why young girls who are terrified of losing their only source of income and getting a prison sentence should be expected to keep a level head and not do what the caller wants her to do, especially when the guy in the room hits her when she doesn't.

if you think the girls molested in these events are at fault, you're blaming rape victims. These are forced sexual acts, and when someone feels powerless, she feels there's no point in fighting it. The people who got duped should be blamed for their stupidity and failure to recognize simple human rights, though, and the guy who made the calls, well, I hope there's a special hell waiting just for him.

I am in no way not blaming the managers or the caller. They are at fault too. But these girls could have easily walked out of the store and/or simply refused. They are most definitely at fault as well as the perpitrators. These were not forced sexual acts. They were not forced or held down or anything. They had a choice but they were simply too stupid to know it. If you can't realize that a police officer wouldn't do something like that, you are an idiot. Don't make excuses for people who make stupid decisions. The rest of society is bearing their burden. If we continue to cater to them and rationalize their stupidity, then they won't feel the need to correct their ignorance. These girls learned their lesson... hopefully.

And yeah, we need to catch the sicko who pulled these prank calls, lock him up in a 3x3 ft concrete cell, hanging from his balls. As for the managers, they should be fired and castrated... including the female ones.

I think it's all a conspiracy. I bet you the girl knew the caller some how and they set it up so this would happen and now the girl will sue McDonald's for millions. The girl didn't even argue she just took her clothes off right away. During the interview she wasn't even upset. She was just like, oh well, crap happens. If she was that willing to do it there has to be something going on behind the scenes. This may sound crazy, but people try to do this sh_t all the time.

I have to disagree with you. I'm generalizing here, and talking about men in authority positions, so don't get on me about women who abuse men. Why do you guys think so many high school and college women sleep with their professors? For grades? Sure, but at the same time, it's also because they're forced into positions where they have no power. It's like asking a victim of date rape why she didn't fight back if her attacker wasn't violent. I personally think it's disgusting that you'd say these weren't forced acts. You don't have to be PHYSICALLY forced to be forced-- there are other kinds of coersion. She was worried about losing her job. Until you've been in a situation even remotely similar, I really think you should be quiet about what constitutes a "forced" act. No, a police officer would NEVER call up and do that. So what? Are you going to blame the girl for something some other moron did? What about the women who have been raped and/or murdered by "police officers" that pull them over on deserted highways at night. Is it their fault for not thinking to pull over at the nearest gas station? The authority figures in our society are there for our protection. Not everyone is going to think to question them first thing. Assuming the girl is innocent, I'd have to say that the situation escalated a lot faster than she could really control. By the time she realized what was happening, she was past the stopping point.

That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if Skywalker is right.

I agree with tropical fishy here. The laws in many states are different for those in authority positions for a reason. Rape does not have to carry the threat of physical violence to be rape. Now, I am alarmed at the possibility of wrongful convictions having said that, but she is still right on the base of it.

And the idea that this might be a rehearsed scam is not far fetched either.

Dude, did we just agree? I think the sky is falling.

Rape laws are all messed up, particularly statuatory rape laws. There are people given sex offender labels that shouldn't be. We won't go into that, hah. But...if the girl wasn't behind this, that man is one of the many who deserves to be slapped with a sex offender label.

Good point. I still believe (my opinion!) that the girls can't be looked on as 100% victims. You always have a choice. If you have a weak character, then you are partly to blame. Now, thank God these girls weren't told to have intercourse with the managers, because I think they may have been stupid enough to do it. A person with half a brain would have left the second they were asked to strip. Even if they stripped, a light should have gone on when they were asked to dance around and jump. Finally, if they hadn't caught on yet, the request for them to perform oral sex on the manager is ridiculous. Sorry, but you really need to be insane to think that the situation is ok then. Scared of losing your job? Suck it up, get another one. My family isn't exactly in a great situation right now, and I work. But if I was put in that position I'd probably exchange some choice words with the manager and leave. I'd then sue for attempted sexual assault (I live in NY state you can sue for anything, it's liberal capital USA) and get a load of money.

It's like an auto accident. They are mostly all preventable. Sure it may not legally be your fault, but practically speaking it is. If you have the chance to avoid something bad, and you don't, you need to shoulder some of the blame. "I was afraid of losing my job", "I had to because it was an authority figure", "I don't know any better because I'm still young"... excuses. A 10 year old could have made the connection that something was wrong. These girls instead submitted. The managers and the caller(s) should be punished severly, but the girls need to be counseled about making right decisions and telling the difference between right and wrong. They can't just go back into society in their condition.

So, if I mug you, its your fault for being unprepared, in the wrong place, at the wrong time? Sure there are factors that make a crime against you easier, but they do not make you at fault, nor excuse those who carry out those crimes.
