          Well you keep using the work modem and ethernet like they are related.

          RJ11 jack = modem port.
          RJ45 jack (larger than RJ11) = ethernet port.

          Try a different cable (either phone for modem, or cat5 ethernet for ethernet). The termination on the cable is far more likley to fail than the jack itself. If that does nothing and you have apple care, go see apple. They are not looking for any excuse to charge you. They take care of you. Tell them you treat your PB nicley and that you are having problems with the ethernet/modem jack.

            I've never mentioned the RJ11 jack in any of my posts.
            Only the RJ45 and the USB jack.

                Try using another cable.

                If that doesn't work, get Apple to replace the logic board
