AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
Well yeah...but I was refering to the smaller tribes who don't get involved with the Warlords. Though those tribes do have "leaders" within their Elders and other Spiritual leaders.
My problem with police is that there is a disgustingly large amount of them that are cops because they either enjoy the rush they get from the job, or they enjoy telling people what to do. It is rare that you find someone who honestly deep down became a cop because they wanted to do the right thing all the time every time. I have heard, seen, and been involved in many incidents where police officers blatantly have been abusive and/or corrupt. I just got a cop fired last month as a matter of fact. He really deserved a lot more than to lose his job though. But like I said, I dont think we dont need cops. But as long as we have cops there will be too many bad ones. And its not that I dont sympathize with how youve been backed into a corner, I just still dont think that gives anyone the excuse to pull the kind of crap that Ive seen. Its inexcusable under any circumstance.
When you join the military in the United States, you give your word that you will uphold the US Constitution (our basis of law in this country). By doing this I pleged to protect the rights of US citizens as they are detailed in the aformentioned document. All US citizens have rights, even the poor guy who had his car, or house or business tourched by those "protestors".
As a service person in the military, you are not given the authority to change laws that don't suit your fancy or liking. That's not how the system works. We leave all that to the doe eyed college kids that would rather ***** about some fashionable "injustice", than actually do something constructive to change those laws....LIKE MARTIN LUTHER KING!!!!! (point is, burning down stuff didn't end segregation. Non-Violant protest did, which is one our our rights.)
I don't mean to offend with this comment, just trying add a little different view point. Healthy debate is one of those neat rights we get to enjoy.
Point taken. Still, we never would have won our independence as a country had it not been for armed struggle. The Second Amendment was written for just this reason, to ensure that the government will never have the power to put down the freedom of the people. Of course, your statements still apply, in that non-violent protest has always been a better alternative with the exception of that one notable rebellion.
And as an aside to those talking about "anarchy" - it can work, because it has worked before. Egalitarian societies were the first sort of civilization to emerge, and some egalitarian societies exist to this day. They work extremely well in isolation, but when you start mixing them with stratefied societies, they get crapped on, because that's what stratefied societies do. I could go on for hours about the merits of egalitarian hunter-gatherer societies, but the bottom line is we'll never go back to that, so it's a moot point. I don't think the reason is human nature, though, but rather human circumstances.

We didn't win out independance because of armed struggle, you idiot. We had one of the most peaceful revolutions in recent(ish) history.
The second amendment was written so that we could hunt.
Anarchy is basically how USA is ran, with a few modifications. If we aren't an example of anarchism working on a large scale, then you need to redefine your idea of what works and what doesn't.
The US is a good example of Anarchy? No way. The US is a Democratic Republic...far from Anarchy. Anarchy has no leadership, the US has 3 forms of leadership.
BTW the 2nd admendment was passed so if a repressive government was formed, the citizens would be able to have another revolution.
Also, no need to call anyone an idiot...this is a debate, yes we may disagree and things get heated at times, but no name calling...it only hurts your argument.

At least I'm not hurting my argument by being completely uninformed and laughable, like someone who I am replying to right now.
Three forms of leadership? Are you kidding me? Do you actually believe that?
Oh, yeah, right... Like our forefathers would want to ENCOURAGE another revolution. That's the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. They gained power, why would they want to lose it? Why do you think that automatic rifles have been banned? The forefathers didn't want us to gain too much firepower. Hunting, man. Hunting.

Kai;
Sorry buddy, but you REALLY don't know what you are talking about. Take a civics class or a college level poli sci class and you will find out that the 2nd Amendment was ALL ABOUT the citizens protecting themselves from an oppressive government. Hunting HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH IT!
The automatic weapon was banned due to the orginized crime wave of the 1920s and 1930s, not because the founding fathers were so inteligent that they banned a weapon that had yet to be invented.
And making a statement that the US is a form of anarchy is just plain silly. We are a oligarcic republic. That means that we are a nation ruled by laws formed by the powered elite.
BTW; there are three forms of leadership in the US government. The President, The Congress and the Supream Court. And yes it does work and yes that is the reality of the situation.
Do some research, educate yourself, refine your argument and then reply. I am fasinated that your really do think what you are saying is true.

Wow, somebody didn't pay too much attention in school, LOL. Try reading some of Founding Father's writings, they held armed revolution very near and dear to heart. They felt an armed public was the only way to ensure a tyranical force would not take over and rule the new country. Fore Fathers banned automatic weapons? LOL, wrong century there!

Dude, I've got a masters in political science, and a doctorate in civics, so please don't question my knowledge.
The automatic weapon was banned because Benjamin Franklyn predicted its invention, and wrote a hidden clause within the Bill of Rights that called for the banning of such weapons. Look it up in your history book.
You just dug your own grave, man. Oligarchy, to the best of my knowledge, means the same thing as Anarchy, so you are only making my argument stronger. Like I said, the American system of government is just a frilly version of anarchism.
Hahah, you can't even spell Supreme Court.
I have read the Fathers' writings, both the public and the private ones. I am well aware of their love of hunting in all of its forms, they were avid goose and fox gamesmen. If that isn't evidence to support their hatred of revolutions, I don't know what is.
LOL all you want, but I am MLOM'ing. (making lots of money)

Wait so them loving to hunt proves their hatred for revolutions? How did you arrive at that conclusion?
oh no im losing....but really though how the hell did he come to that conclusion?? I actually wanna know.
Because a true revolutionary refuses to hunt. He refuses to establish his dominance over any other lifeforms, be it man or animal.
The fathers were obviously pseudo-revolutionaries and hypocrites. They played as righteous men only to get what they desired, they would never include anything in the constitution that enabled their demise.
In my last game of civilisation 4, I destroyed the Japanese, the Americans, the Romans and the Greeks because they were taking up all my 'lebensraum' (and they were being sassy and kept asking me for free science, I ain't gonna give away the secret of gunpowder ever!).
I think Kai should take more history lessons from videogames, if america was an anarchic state, then you guys wouldn't be able to do any research and building city improvements would take almost 60 turns to complete! Kai has obviously not done his homework on this subject. I still think Kai should post more though, because his posts lead to EXCITEMENT.
