    need some guitar advice.

well, i might sell my dm4 for another guitar, right now i have a ibanez JTK1.(dont get me wrong its an awesome guitar). but to classic for me. the olny classic look i like are the les pauls. thought about those. played one..it was ok. not what i would pick for me tho...so i dont know what is out there right now. maybye a strat. im also looking at carvins. i guess just post what you think would be best for me. i like to plat rock(AC/DC- system of a dwon) alot of that stuff. so just throw some guitars like that out there. or in your opinion what do you like to play..

    thanks

Looks aren't the only thing you should be looking for when perchasing a guitar.
tone, more sustain, or more resonant?
The type of wood used for the fretboard, the neck, the body, etc.

Ditch the guitar and learn the piano. With practice, the chicks will line up to be with you. I mean, come on, there is nothing a girl likes more than a talented pianist.

Dude. Go to a guitar shop. Play guitars.

And dont judge guitars by looks. Thats retarded. Unless of corse you dont plan on playing the guitar. Then, by all means, go for the one that looks the 'coolest'.

I went in the shop thinking about a les paul or telecaster and came out with a SG. It's a hell of a guitar. I dont really like the look of it much but it plays really nice.

You will NEVER EVER come to a conclusion by asking for peoples opinions over the internet. GO OUT THERE AND MAKE YOUR OWN FREAKIN OPINIONS!

              that is all.

I'm a huge Ibanez fan. I'm not sure what one I tried, but I did try one of the higher end S series guitars. It was sweet. It was a great looking guitar, and it sounded great. It had a huge turn on for me. It was wicked small. I've got some metal bars in my chest, and it makes it difficult for me to hold larger guitars (the les pauls for example). This guitar was great. It was so comfortable to play. It was just a solid mahogany body I think. It looked really sharp.

I've got three Ibanez guitars. They're all in the RG line. I love em. I've got a fixed bridge one, a 7 string floating bridge (RG7620), and a 6 string floating bridge(RG570). So, speaking from experience, I'd recommend an Ibanez RG. I think the new model is the RG1570 or something like that. I love it.

Personman is right though. You've really got to try the guitars yourself. Everyone has a favorite guitar, and everyone is gonna tell you what it is, and why you should get it. And the SG is a sweet guitar (and I love the way they look). I'm gonna get one of them someday.

ive owned an esp viper 50 (good beginner guitar)... then i got some cash and was looking at a nice guitar for rock/metal music around 500-600 bucks. i played tons of jacksons, ESPs, some gibsons, a few BC richs, and a ton of other stuff... then I came across this

                      its a rg42dxfx...

and it won me over in 2 seconds. the feel and playability was twice that of all others... not to mention its looks (second to the jackson warrior though). i love the pearl inlays on this thing. plus its a set thru neck, you can run your hands up all the way to 16 and 17 frets and not notice the neck getting fatter.... then once you hit 20 its still not even that fat, and 24 is easily accesable. everything about this guitar owns your grandma, and then some. buy an ibanez, any ibanez... and you wont be dissapointed.
Yummy yummy yummy, I've got fun in my tummy.

well if thats the issue, then musiciansfriend.com has a 45 day period in which you can return stuff for a 100% refund... thats a pretty good oppertunity to try out guitars if you ask me.. even though its a little more complicated, the outcome will be worth it. narrow it down to three or four guitars then either buy them all and return the ones you dont like or buy them one at a time and return em if you dont like them or something.

If your price range is above 600 dollars, and you get an Ibanez, you should probably just stop playing guitar.

                              What is your price range?
