Internet works in Safemode but not standard...

Used to be running Norton Internet Security. My modem works fine for when im in safe mode, any ideas?

turn off all firewalls if you haven't already

scan for spyware and adware and virususues.

k, I checked for the ICF, but it was already off. Any other firewalls I should check? Possibly a rogue Norton file that I should look to disable? Detailed instructions would be helpful as that I am prone to being an idiot

you can, but it depends, there are safemode options where u can still use networking.


did u use msconfig recently?

sounds like you mightve stopped a service from running in normal operation.
