    Video Card Update time

    Alright its vid card update time. Mine sucks....deffinently
    Specs:
    Dell Dimension 8300
    1.25gb ram
    HT P4 at 2.6ghz
    Nvidia Geforce4 MX440 AGP8X
    and dunno my powersupply

    so not sure which to go with ATI or Nvidia no preference really
    wanna spend about 120-150 no more, no less
    dont do too much gaming just a little americas army and might get battlefield 2 and battlefront 2 eventually but :/ w.e
    this is gonna be for christmas so parents wont spend too much

      I'm sure with black friday rolling around the corner you could get a 6800GS for a little above your price range, they say they should overclock extremely well. Right now they're going for 199 @ clubit so it might lower in price if you're lucky.

      You could also check woot.com daily to see the woot deal. They had a 6600 gt for sale for 130 three days ago.

        yeah im in pretty much the same position. except i have a geforce 4 ti4200.

        ps 128m = no bf2

          Thats not true at all, I play it on a 9800 pro and I built a comp around that 6600gt and both work well, albeit at lower resolutions. And hes got an agp board so no GS.

            I agree the 6600GT is your best bet.

            Then use Rivatuner to overclock your memory/GPU speeds to get a lil more 'oomph' out of it.

            I just ordered an ARTIC COOLING VGA fan/heatsink set (29.99 w/ free shipping on newegg right now) to drop my temps a bit and I'm putting a bit more cooling. I have a 6800GT overclocked above Ultra speeds.
            Its a wakeup call for the Nintendo generation
