I bought more than one so I could sell a couple and keep one. Boy that was a mouthful. It was weird, my town is relatively small (2000 pop), and our walmart got 32 premiums and like 16 cores. I waited at Target too.

All in all I was waiting in line for 13 hours.

So far it's worked quite well. (Insert evil british laugh here)

I must say, they did a lot right with the xbox 360. Especially if you have a media center. I'm really enjoying it. Also, Call of Duty 2 is sweet.

Looks like for one of my friends and two others on MLGPro.com, it just so happens that they've received temporary MM Halo 2 bans. Wonder when they end?

      12/31/9999. Wow.

      Guess MS and their emulation + Halo 2 anti-modding **** = ****.

While Halo: CE>MLG Customs> Halo 2 MM, it is the principle of the thing. Its pretty damn pathetic if you ask me!

Thats what happens when you try to beat competetors to the market. (PS3! PS3! PS3!)

And so far the PS3 dev. kits have literally melted during use.

Never buy the first production run of something...remember the first PS2s, some of them didn't read DVDs. The first few runs of the X-Box are known to overheat and cause fires (trust me on the over heating part...I own one of the first runs and a buddy of mine had his catch on fire). They try to hurry up and mass produce these things for the holidays but half the time the first ones they produce have so many problems you end up sending them back to the company to get fixed :P.

yea but if you get the first run of them, the better the chances are for yours to be modable - at least first

Id just like to dispell the rumors that these were rushed to the market and thats why they are crashing. That is entirely untrue. This is just how MS does business. They would screw up bottled water on the initial release.

Mine has had no problems at all. All of my friends who got them havn't had any problems either. The people who are having problems probably keep them inside a tightly enclosed stereo cabinet with the doors closed where there is no circulation (i.e. overheat) where in the manual is specifically says "do not put them in a stereo cabinet."

                  Yeah, MS sucks

We all know no other company screws up their products.

                    To try and minimize crashing:

On the Perfect Dark Zero forums a Dutch poster stated that by "suspending" his power brick, his constant crashing stopped. Seven hours and running w/o a crash. Needs more airflow.

Seems like the gigantic power brick is to blame. Try that.
