Need some input on which rifle to get !

im looking to buy a rifle next week, looking for something fairly cheap to go shoot targets and bottles. ive never killed an animal in life on purpose so it probly wont be used for hunting. ive got a gun shop directly next to my house, then theres a sporting good store and walmart. im fond of a few small calliber rifles. ill post up thel inks and you can tell me what you think or you can tell me what you think is a good gun

first gun is a marlin 22

second one is a marlin 17

    thanks for your help guys

if your looking just to shoot targets and bottles get a .22, ammo is a lot cheaper than a .17. The .17 is more for small game hunting and you dont seem to have any interest in it.

I just want this stuff gone, super low prices

marlins a very good brand. been around for many years.

look into ruger's 10/22 though, very nice rifles and well made.

I think that the last thing you need to be buying in a firearm.

I own the model 60 and my buddy has the .17 which I have used. They are both great guns with a lot of great features. The model 60 has somewhere around an 18 round tube magazine so you dont need to reload often; however, when you do, it's a hastle to pull the tube spring rod out and drop each new shell in one by one. Accuracy is fair and cleanup isn't bad. One main issue with mine is that it jams a lot. It was given to me by my uncle and when I took the stock off it looked like someone took a handfull of mud and let it dry in the action. This is most likely my problem even after I cleaned it about fifty times. The .17 has a super heavy duty barrel and a very nice wooden stock (dont buy synthetic stocks). Not much else to say about this gun besides it's basically the same as the .22 except bolt action and a higher caliber.

thanks silentdeath at your helpfull , im not going to be using this for hunting, just shooting bottles n old cars , that kind of stuff, back in the day when i lived with my dad he had an old semi auto 22 and it was pretty fun. i think leaning towards the .17 though
