I go to check my gmail and it will go to the "Loading..." screen and just stop, the bar at the bottom of internet explorer says "done". It will just sit at that page forever.

happens to me sometimes. Usually a refresh will fix it eventually.

try switching browsers or clearing your cache files hisorty etc...sometimes that helps for me with things like thatComment

that happens with me only if i had pressed the refresh button. gmail doesnt like refresh. just enter www.gmail.com into your browser (or click on a bookmark).
that and use firefox.
