What do i wanna be when i grow up?

Well i have been thinking for a long time and finally found something i think i would want to do. I doubt many of you can even help me here but its worth a shot, does anyone know any classes that would help you get into the FBI? I already know you need a law degree and everything, i have done some major searching on the FBI's website....but does anyone have a family member or something in the FBI, i was looking mainly at the criminal investigation, counterintelligence, and perhaps anti terrorism. Im not out of high school yet, but its always good to know ahead of time, i have the brains to do it and I think for once i am actually going to try, this is something i really wanna do. So if anyone can help, thnx. Any help with anything i wouldnt know is much appreciated.

also look into a minor or a double major. whatever other field of study you choose will determine what you do as an agent. if you study computer science for example you'll probably end up in cybercrimes. being fluent in a second language is also a highly sought after skill so taking a couple courses in a foreign language is a good idea. are you in college yet? if you are to your career and academic planning center. someone there should be able to tell you about what the fbi is looking for or at least put you in touch with someone who can. good luck!

there are alot of criminology offered in college, ive seen then when i signed up for other classes, i cant think of what they are but they are out here

Golf Course Management? I would have done something like that until i realized your major is like very important, and i used to be the laziest kid alive....example, i had a 2.6 GPA last quarter(i know i know) but i had all A's on my exams with the exception of French 3.. a B. I am starting to try because i finally realized it matters, so far my cumultaive GPA is a 3.25...i need to get that up, desperately.

Ne way, going back to the college courses, i thought of those crimonology cases to but i thought maybe someone had a relative or friend who was in the FBI who might know...thnx for your help anyway guys

I've always thought that criminology and forensics were really cool. CSI happens to be one of my favorite shows. Don't really want to get in the FBI or anything tho.

What kind of major would you get for a job like that?

Patriot: Everything MantisMag said is exactly right. He knows exactly what he is talking about. Go to www.fbi.gov and you will see information about college visits and career fairs. Every year a good local college should host a career fair and you local FBI field office will always have a booth set up with Agents there to talk to students. You cant really have a degree in "anything" if you want to be an angent. And contrary to popular belief, a degree in "Law Enforcement", "Political Science" or "Criminology" will NOT increase your chances of becoming an angent. If you had a degree in Computer Science, Accounting, Engineering, etc. THEN that would increase your chances. Sounds weird I know, but people who are schooled in science and engineering and oddly enough, accounting and things of that nature, will always have the upper hand.

Now, say you had a BS in Criminolgy or what have you. If you went to graduate school THEN that would make you marketable to the FBI and they would then probably look into your application much further. See, thing is, EVERYONE thinks "Oh i want to be FBI let me take LAW classes" and then you have THOUSANDS with the same credentials.

I've been told that if you are an accountant, that'll get u in the FBI, mainly cuz Credit Fraud is a big thing that they take care of there.

Then after I finish that I would go to college(payed for by uncle sam) then i want to take criminal justice and then I want to join a antiterrorist entry team. and then...Pro paintballer

Actually it said on the website the main areas you can get in are, i believe it was Llaw, was the first one, then accounting, language, and diversified. So a degree in law(which is second on my list, a lawyer) is a good thing....and heres a link for you doubtfuls
