    Kings X - opinons wanted

    hAyO,

Buddy of mine won tickets to see Kings X tonight up at Slims in the City. I haven't heard of them, and wanted some opinions and/or descriptions of the band. He described them as "old-school rock and roll", which really doesn't help much.

/Fear Factory was awesome on Thurs
God....I guess I was probably returning videotapes.

    Fear Factory? Awesome?

    Eww....

Now, what was awesome, was Gwar last night. My whole body is red and green.

Yes, Gwar is also fun. I wussed out and wore a raincoat when I went.

I've never heard of these guys, and its an hour and a half to get up to SF... you heard of them?
God....I guess I was probably returning videotapes.

        Almost forgot.

I really wouldn't waste my time seeing that band.

I'm sure there are some fantastic shows within the same radius you could see.

I think that if you're a Slayer / Fear Factory / Gwar fan, then you made the right choice by skipping the show. I don't think you'd have enjoyed it. While I couldn't describe their sound, they haven't got much in common with those bands you mentioned.

Kings X is a puss band. They suck. I can't even believe that they're still around.

GWAR? They're still around? Holy Crap!

I know this is late, but...

I have been listening to Kings X since the early 90's. They are a very talented band and put on a great show. But, they surely are not a "youthful" band.

As for GWAR, they are still around, but none of the members are original to know knowledge.

I actually thought SYL was the highlight of that night.

The singer and bassist are original.

Gwar's been around for 20 years now.

Hmm, has this always been the case, or did they come back after a break. I know in the late 90's I was told by a friend who was one of their "slaves" that there were no origninal members left. I have been to a few GWAR shows, but I know very little about their music. They are just fun to watch (I perfer the back of the crowd though).
