Here at my high school we have refugees from Sudan and other countires in that area. I was just wondering if your guy's schools have the same thing. I am in studyhall right now and was thinking about this since I just helped a kid named Chui from Sudan with a writing essay, letter to his friends from Sudan. He's not really a kid though, he's 25, doesnt seem it though. Anyways just throwing this out there cause I was wondering if it is common among other schools. Feels good to help other people every once in a while, you know?

if he is that old, he must be a spy
my school is having this french thing, where we sign up, and a french kid comes and lives in your home for 2 weeks and goes to school with you to learn about the american school system.
my brothers school had a deal with the katrina victims, though only 2 came all they way up here to attend his school.upgrade fund: $145

only two weeks? im friends with a girl from italy, shes staying here the whole year. she wants to stay here next year too. theres a lot of other transfer students too, most of them for a whole year.Originally posted by wanna-b-ballin'my school is having this french thing, where we sign up, and a french kid comes and lives in your home for 2 weeks and goes to school with you to learn about the american school system.
students from other countries seem to know a lot more languages than us. im struggling through latin, one language, and im going to drop it next year. its the only language ive taken in highschool. the girl from italy is fluent in italian, french, and can carry on a conversation in english... although sometimes she makes mistakes or misunderstands something. its better than id do. I have a friend who is trilingual, she speaks english, spanish and french. she just moved to slovenia though, and to graduate with "high honors" she'd have to learn 4 more languages. she currently is taking 3 different language courses.
back to the origional question, that actually reminded me, in my freshman year there was a fundraiser to send a refugee who was a student here back to africa to see his family. i dont really remember much about it though, i dont think i ever even saw him.Last edited by slade; 12-06-2005, 07:22 PM.Comment

we have other transfer students though that are all year, i only know one of them, she's from belgium; but this french one is a thing that my school just decided to try or something.
as for harassment. my Government teacher signed everyone up in my class to house a french person,so we can have class full of frenchies, and give them the wrong impression. watch team america and other crappy movies and harass them.upgrade fund: $145

Our school team played another school with 2 africans on their team. Neither of them spoke English, they were brothers and would yell to eachother in African. It was pretty cool listening to their language but also "What were they saying?"Originally posted by MayAMonkeyBeYourPinataWE have a group of about 15 kids from Somalia, two of them played soccer.rt ule custom, boomstick, ult,apoc2k and x board revi, i want:j&j ceramic.Comment
