    2006 MLB Predictions

I know its early, but my pathetic Jets have sucked the football-life right out of me.

So what do you guys think for the 06 baseball season?

Who did the best so far as improving their team?

What team will surprise us the most?

I'm hoping the World Baseball Clsssic lives up to its name, that nobody who plays in it gets hurt, and that Cuba is allowed to play (I don't think politics should play a role in allowing them to participate).

I think the Mets have done the most to try to improve their team. Even though I don't really root for them, I hope they take their division this year. As for the AL, Toronto made some big moves (IMO paid too much, though), but I don't know if it's enough.

I don't know what team will suprise us the most, but some things I wouldn't be suprised by are:

    * The final AL East standings playing out about the same as they have for the past few years

    * The Braves will being in the playoffs again this year (how far they last is another story)

    * The Royals and the Devil Rays fighting to avoid the worst record in baseball (again)

    * Manny still being Manny

    * The Yankees/Red Sox rivalry as strong as ever

First it was the Red Sox, then it was the White Sox, this year, the final seal will be broken and the last curse will be lifted - THE CUBS WILL WIN IT ALL!!!!!!!

I think the Nationals are on their way... they might not be strong enough this year, but they seem like they are going in the right direction.

I also think that it will surprise no one when Roger Clements re-signs with the Astros right around the All-Star break.

my prediction is that maybe everyone will realize that baseball is the biggest, highest paying game of monkey in the middle..... ever....... then we will all be uninterested and move on with our lives as if nothing happened......

World Series matchup: Cubs vs White Sox

It would put the Great Chicago Fire of 1871 to shame. I think the Earth would have to implode.

The Mets aren't going to do jack (again). They spend a ton of money on some decent talent, but they don't actually make sure that all the players will work together as a team. Just because they're on the same team doesn't mean they are a team. The Braves can take kids from the farm, match them with veteran players, and still win the division at less than half the payroll of the Mets.

Toronto looks to be the big player this upcoming year. They've made some good additions, and they have plenty of good kids with MLB experience already. I think they may be one of hte most dangerous teams out there.

                  the man's right

                  Most "teams" arnt TEAMS.

Just because you play for the same organization, doest make you a team.

i think my rays will do alot better this year, despite the loss of sweet Lou.

new ownership willing to listen, act and spend some more can make a big difference.

so far, most of the team from last year is still intact. add a good starting pitcher and some more maturity to some already great young players and you have a contending team.

great set up man in borowski, up and coming closer in baez, excellent young arm with kaszmir, crawfords bat and speed, gomes and cantu with thier bats and decent speed. trade huff for a starting pitcher, maybe lugo too. also, toby hall who is a great base blocker and pretty decent at throws to second.

lets not forget that the end of last season, they played spoiler to the red sox and yankees. i'll admit that they had trouble against less than stellar teams at times though.

but, i look for some good ball from them regardless.

                    Florida peeps...step up!!

                        OH GOD YOU'RE SO DREAMING!

I couldn't for the life of me see Clemens going back to Boston, thoughhe would look good on the Mets this season. And no, I am not a Met fan, but they are built to win this year and he would fit in perfectly for that situation.

Theo is already back with the Sox in some sort of role.

Manny for Miguel is sort of a wash and I don't see the Sox dealing Manny, who is a GOD in New England anyway.

And the Yankees are going back to the big show this year.

                        ~Fred

Im pretty disappointed that the Marlins went through another fire sale. Oh well I guess in about 3-4 years they might be pretty tough again, they got some pretty decent prospects out of the deal who knows where they will be playing by then.

I think the Angels will continue to be a threat in the American League West. They have some minor prospects that are pretty darn amazing.
