Just tapped a car pulling into a parking spot..

I call them love taps, and I've never made anyone pay for it yet. Remember that though, I've had to pay $400 to replace a bumper for a sratch that wasn't visable over 6 inches away, it kind of kills you inside thinking about all the other places that money could of gone if you had been just a little bit luckier...

I remember the first time I hit someone while parking too...it was last week. I was coming into Hastings and I hit a car. So I waited there for the owner to come out, and I told him that I had hit his car. He looked, didnt see any significant damage, and said since I was so honest, he wouldnt make me pay for it. Nice old guys, gotta love em.

My buddy was parking and gave this guy a love tap, but since it was a company car he had to report it. I think there was like 50 bucks in damage, some super little scratch and his insurance went up 250 a year.

thankfully I am not skilled enough to hit a moving target. I hat a concrete piller while backing out... twice. other wise I am pretty good at parking.

but thank you lucky stars man. I was driving under the speed limit by far and the limit was 20 for a school zone, and I was coming up to a red light so I decullerating and since it had been raining and my brakes locked, I ended up sliding into a lady at the red light - klunk. we pull into an autozone parking lot to to the exchange thing. and I sware to god not moments later, police arrive code 3 (lights and sirens the whole 9 yards and 3 crusers at that) then fire, 2 engines on code 3, then EMS rescue and I would not have been suprised to see the national guard arrive in helos and humvees ready to rock and roll but I get out of my truck, and only being 17/18 at the time, I was scared out of my mind. but I look at the damage... it was only a cracked tail lamp and a scrached reverse lamp!!! OMG I could have walked 20 feet to autozone picked up tools and the parts and fixed it right then! but she had EMS exmane her, the whole act ect. me and the cop are sitting on my truck shaking our heads in disbelife!

in the following months, I got notice I was being charged for $3800 on my insurance for REPAIRS!!! and then being sewed for $1100 for personal damages!!! and then I got notice my Insurance company is terminating my contract and will not reinstate me, untill a certain time, which I am still getting to!

so yeah, be thankfull, thats what happened to me for my "tap" going less then 10mph and decullerating, so about 5mph or less.

In the city bumping cars slightly getting into spots is a fact of life. Man do people park like jackasses!
