Woot! I just got my new Dell XPS. Very nice computer. Im on it right now, and man are things fast compared to my old computer. It was spendy, $1000 or so, but I love it. But Im still running on Internet Explorer at the moment, and I want Mozilla back

I just got the same computer but with a ton of upgrades. I also love it. So much faster and everything in general. I just wish my parents and sister could figure thintgs out on therie own and not mess with it. im constantlky fixing things. but i do like it and its VERY fast.

i just got a new computer too. its a sony vaio though. love the case, love the hardware, nice speed etc... but something really got messed up when they installed the operating system and programs i dont know whether to blame microsoft or sony... probably microsoft considering all the problems ive had before. even windows messenger and norton get messed up, and they were pre-installed .

im so close to just installing linux again... but i really wanted a lot of the software on windows. thats the only reason windows is still around, software compatability.

with a few programs (windows messenger, norton... cant remember what else right now) if i start it (for windows messenger) or try accessing certain functions/going into certain windows (norton) it freezes, eventually displays the message that its not responding, when i click close, it wont close. the message just comes up again. and it goes through the same thing again. the only thing i can really do to close it is hold the power button.

ill figure it out eventually, my mom has a job teching the computers at a college. i may have to just backup the data and reinstall the OS...

once i get this working i am installing linux as a dual boot. linux always works... the only problem you will have is not knowing whats going on

if you can boot it and get to the desktop and disable nortons if you can if not maybe boot into safe mood and uninstall nortons if that doesnt fix the problem i dont know what will but once nortons is gone you need a different virus/spyware program or install nortons from a cd

well yeah, i know i can do that, but lol the point is 1) i want the software and 2) its happening with other programs.

i got norton for free with the computer. it was preinstalled (i hate how they sell computers with the software preinstalled...) but anyway its free and i have it. i dont want to get rid of it.

i did just get rid of windows messenger. i downloaded msn messenger and installed it but now its not working lol, i think its the norton firewall .

haha i can post here or you can pm me but heres a tip with nortons go to the internet security menu then to the parental control then go to the program part and anything that is checked will be blocked
