love my 4thgen ipod, and im considerng getting a 5th gen soon, just cuz. it pretty much rocks my socks. i dont like the radio stations here in philly ever since y 100 bit the dust, so i just use my ipod in my car. i also use it on going to class. any time i wanna listen to music, i can. easy interface, no issues, and easy to use while driving as well. i dont know what i would do without it.

Some people do. Especially now that the news ones are able to play video, that storage space is going to come in handy. I've used my 2nd gen since they came out, and I'm going to replace it this year with a 60 gig video. They're awesome in every way in my opinion.

MP3 CD player is a PITA, it takes forever to find the song you want to listen to.
if you want to carry more than 120ish songs around you have to carry a CD case.

with my ipod, its ALOT smaller than a cd player and it has a nice little interface so it doesn't take me forever to find a song.

Heck ya, ipods are the shiznit, the new video ipod 60 gig. I loaded all my music 13gigs, and the whole family guy season 2. It's great for snowboarding; we watched family guy on the lift ride up. The only thing it's missing is a 5megapixel camera, and a phone (right?) but it will come. I bet apple is really happy they "took back" steve jobs.

While IPODs earn my respect, I would prefer others. To me all of that space is a waste. Two gigs would back up my old Gateway with Windows 95. Sixty would practically back up the one I have now. The one I am getting for christmas is a Windows Media ready (plug it in, synchronize, and go) IRIVER. It is only one gig (which wont hold everything, but enough to let me listen to what I have the urge to listen to for a few days), but it runs off of a single AA battery, and gets as much, if not more playback time. It doesn't have all the special radio/car interface or speaker systems, or anything fancy, and it will not play any videos, but it will do what I want it to do. If I wanted to do more I would get a PSP.

                        While we're talking about IPODs...
I have a sony XPlod CD player in my car and has no tape deck. Is there any way for an Ipod to work in my car? I think it would be really convenient because having to change out CDs really has caused many "close calls" along with being able to simply upload what I need then rather downloading and burning. Appreciate it.

                          fm transmitters...

like the "i trip" hooks to your mp3 player then broadcasts on an fm frequency.. turn your cars radio to that frequency and it plays through your cars speakers (assuming there isnt a strong broadcast on there already)

I have a 6 Gig Mini and a new 30 gig video iPod, both are amazing and I can't imagine NOT having them.

Those who hate the iPod secretly wish they had one.
