I've never been into anime, but a friend gave me a copy of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children and I pretty much fell in love. Best CG movie I've ever seen, hands down, and I've never even played a Final Fantasy game.

Don't plan on the English version coming out anytime soon... it's been pushed back atleast 3-4 times already. But I do agree, go rent or buy this movie when it does come out.

Can somebody explain what all the final fantasies are about? I just don't get how there can be so many of them.

They are all different, it's not really a "Final" Fantasy, unless you consider the fact that almost all of them are different from one another "Final." Great games, I highly suggest 7 and when it comes a 12(its gunna be when FF7 ended.)

Even though its probably isnt considered Anime (probably called "Japanamation"), Maccros/Robotech were the best things that came out of Japan since subservient little giesha girls.

While i agree with most of the comments made on the PBn thread, you got to keep in mind that most anime titles are 1000 times better than any of the stuff Western studios are creating.

No western comic has ever tried to take on an adult/tom Clancy style storyline or anything more complicated that some bad men trying to rule the world, and then being stopped by a team of do-gooders.

I was pretty pissed about the comments on Ghost in the shell though.
if I had a sexy female cyborg body and could fight giant robots, Id wear skimpy outfits..................why not?


Definitly agree with BigEvil, the robotech series was one of the greatest Cartoons of all time. Its what got me started on Anime

Hehe! I was just watching one of my favorite big robot movies last night: Gunbusters.

Do a torrent search for Gunbuster Revival and give yourself a treat and download it. I liked this better than Evangelion.

Also..the FF7:AC movie was great. It was awesome to see the characters that I enjoyed in the game.

Some of the best anime were only made to run one full season too.

Some of the full length feature movies that made it to the US (purchased by Disney) have been good too. Two from the same studio/artist since 2001 or so, but I can't remember off the top of my head. Princess Mononoke was the first.
