    Looking for a cell phone?

I have an offer through work (I work for Nextel) where I can offer deals on Sprint/Nextel units to friends... Hit me up via PM.. This is only good until 1/6 -- I figured I'd share it with my AO bretheren.

Yeah.. Basically all the phones either Sprint or Nextel offers. Some are free. Some have big discounts.. Take this to PM, though. This thread is probably borderline already.

I have to say that since Sprint took over Nextel their already borderline service went to complete crap. I can be in the middle of town and have no service. Even with good signal half the time I can hear nothing but jarble. I cannot connect with many of my contacts most of the time w/o calling them on the cell.

Sorry man, but Nextel sucks and I wouldn't give one to a person I hate. As soon as I am out of contract I will be changing providers. I know its not your fault, but thought I might warn others of my experiance w/ it.

has nothing to do with the merger.

Well as I hear it, Nextel needed to make some rather expensive upgrades in equipment and instead they sold out.

Was there any need for that comment in this thread? NO.

As for the service, they run on two separate networks. Two separate TECHNOLOGIES even. To compare the network trouble with the merger, is asinine. It's just not possible. Please, cancel your phone. I'll even do it for you. I don't want customers like you, who complain all the time, on MY network.

                *edit*

As for Nextel "selling out," that is just asinine as well. In a time when consolidation was the next step, it needed to be done.. Both companies were comparable in side and it was a merger of equals.. Maybe you should do your research before you start running your mouth, especially to someone who's IN THE KNOW. I suggest Yahoo Finance or maybe even Forbes. Everyone's opinion is the same: Sprint Nextel is in the BEST position of ANY wireless carrier.

                Can you hear ME now?

                    Oh whaa freaking whaa.

You know one of the things that make American wonderful is my right to state my opinion. Even in your thread. What is your company so freaking great and you so well placed in it that you cannot handle criticism?

All companies have bad points. Including other cell providers. Unfortunatley Nextel is the only two way currently available. Until it gets better I have the right to ***** about the service or lack therof that I pay for.

Oh and the comment about the merger started with "As I hear it" implying that it was a rumor.

I have had Sprint since 96 or so and have been totally happy with them. Nextel on the other hand, my father had them a few years back and was sitting inside 3 Rivers Stadium in downtown Pittsburgh and I could not reach him.

Muz - During a game? That could have been more due to overload on the site. Gillette Stadium here in MA was like that, until we actually doubled the amount of base radios on the site at the stadium (which doubled the capacity). I highly doubt there is no coverage at Three Rivers, especially when Sprint Nextel is a major NFL sponsor -- it was most likely a capacity issue. Too many people on the Nextel's at once.
