Old cave thread

I've been searching and can't find a thread I'm looking for.

It's an old one that had a link to a guys website where he recounts his expedition into a cave.

He had pictures and everything. The story that goes along with the pictures was a pretty freaky one.

And then it just ended. He didn't update it anymore.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about? I'll keep searching and post if I find it.

worte a hage review on the problems and my conclusions, but my comp went psycho as soon as i closed out the cave thing

in the end, well written, might have done better with an editor, FAKE, creepy and the main site where the pics were hosted from made my blood run cold when i first clicked it

Beam, you are a slug and I will never, ever read any post or thread I see your name attached to. This was on the same level as spam and you should be banned, banned, banned. I started reading the story in the link and pretty darn early the suspicion of spamful waste of time alert was going off...despite better judgement I read on.... Big surprise at the end, a complete waste of my time! The story is completely false and someone just fabricated it as a stupid internet hoax. Thank you so much for completely wasting my valuable time, I will be sending you an invoice.

The story of Ted the Caver apparently was taken from "The Fear of Darkness" by Thomas Lera, with various names changed and some minor story alterations. The original short story was written back around 1987. Here's a link... you may have to cut-n-paste it into your browser's Address line:

Personally, while reading it I knew it was fake, but I still enjoyed it. I read it back the first time it was posted.

Yeah, I was thinking about it. I remember back when it was first posted that it was a cool story. I didn't believe it was real, but very well done with pics and all. Someone went to a lot of trouble to set it all up.

it took me 3 hours to read that, only to find out it has a cheap *** crappy ending. i'm so pissed off.
and now i'm probably going to have nightmares.
