Landscaper I cut them down If I have the chance count less time I get smacked in the face by a low hanging branch and the sad thing is that the thornless ones are cheaper up here yet they still put the ones with throns in.

yeah I'm not a fan of U2 either

Dashboard Confessional. I'm a pretty passive person, but when they took the stage I stood there and flicked them off.

              Oh, come one now.

Surely they aren't the worst band ever.

              Aren't you forgetting about someone.

              You know.

I was just thinking when I saw this thread that im going to take some heat for my reply. Personally I cant stand U2 either. Im so sick of Bono I honestly wouldnt mind if i never heard them again. Granted they are not the worste band ever, since that truely does not exist, but if I never have to listen to Bono kick a dead horse in anymore bull**** interviews, well as Mitch Hedberg might say, "Id be.....F'ing suprized."

Bono is a two faced son of a gun, for lack of better words. Claims to have never sold out and *****es about everyone else who does. HES GOT AN IPOD SPECIAL EDITION. HES ON EVERY RADIO STATION KNOWN TO MAN, AND HES GOT BIG GLASSES (not really sure if that last one fits in?)

                I HATE BONO

When I started this thread, I figured that it would turn into a flamefest because someone was offended that someone else didn't like "Band X".

I'm just trying to keep it civil, which, it pleasantly is; so far...

So they created an awesome album (and yes im tired of hearing it too) and they put it for sale. It was a huge hit. They made a video or 3, all huge hits because the songs were such huge hits. Did they ever change their sound to appease any labels or supporters?

do you even realize american idiot is a rock opera? or is supposed to be interpreted as one? heck, i think there is even a full length movie out there of it, it was on bravo a while ago.

greenday is not my favorite band, am i a fan? yes, but not fanatical, but that argument had absolutely no grounds.
They put their effort into making one song that will be a big hit with all their retarded fans, and then blow off the rest of the album. Kids buy a overpriced album for one song. Perfect strategy for going against what it means to be an artist and making lots of money... those pigs.

Hmm? Just curious, have you listened to American Idiot? Maybe you have, and you interpreted a different way than I did, which is cool. To me, the songs flowed together very nicely. As magman stated before, it was intended to be a "rock opera." Now I can't argue that it was a perfect masterpiece in every aspect of the word, but there was certainly a central theme and mood to the whole album and the songs fit in very nicely with one another.

Again, personally, I'm not a huge fan of the single "American Idiot" myself. However, I love listening through the whole album, because it really sounds great all together. I couldn't disagree more with the theory of them making "one hit song"... hell, look at the radio charts, they've had at least three (four? I don't know, I don't listen to the radio much any more) songs from that album in heavy rotation since it's come out.
