    Bug Shields on vehicles

I bought this truck a while ago and my dadnlaw managed to tear the bugshield off it while horsn around. I didn't think anything of it but he pushed some cash into my hand and told me to get a new one. Only I have NO CLUE who makes this one. Can anyone help me out? What companys should I look at? The one on my truck has 5 screws under the hood and two long slots just infront of the hood to relieve water presure at the car wash. I would like to use the same holes over again if at all possible but I'm stumped on this.
Which makes me wonder.... does anyone know if these bug shields do anything? I've hear everything from bug deflecting to better gas milage?

Weathertech makes bug shields. I think that they disrupt the airflow over the hood, deflecting bugs up and away from the windshield, but thats just an educated guess.

They also stop the hood from getting nicked by stones.

There are many places you can get them and they very in price from about $40 to about $100 for the normal plastic ones. There are also people that make Aluminum ones, but they are a few hundred.

Find a clear one. That way, you can paint the back of it the same as your truck. No black stripe across the hood.

Born - your best bet would be to find truck/auto suppliers, such as the link above, and others, and keep looking until you find your brand...give this one a try:

just look in the phonebook for a local truck shop. Most of the ones over by me are priced right with the internet on most parts.

I just want this stuff gone, super low prices

i always thought they were kinda stupid looking...
                just something unneeded i guess.

i mean if you go with a bug sheild, you might as well get a topper and running boards too, and some pin striping and lots of lights....

sorry about the rant, i'm just not a fan of old-manning out a truck.

Ive got one on the escalade, and it looks great on my model. I love it and it really stands out among others. As far as brand or price, I have no idea.
