mp3 burning programs?

Is there any good programs that let you burn mp3's onto cd's? Preferably ones that I can download, but tell me ones that I can buy if they are really good. Thanks.

Go onto downloads.com, than burning software and search for all freeware. That'll get you some results.

I mean burning the actual mp3s. Aren't you supposed to be able to put up to 10hours of mp3s on one cd?

All the programs that I've downloaded only lets you put 74 minutes, so I'm guessing that it converts into wavs on these programs. I'm yet to download nero, but does it let you put the actual mp3s on the cd? I have 56k and I don't want to download it if I don't have to...

If your just wanting to burn Mp3's on to CD any conventional burning porgram will do the job. What burning software came with your burner ? Likely Adaptec 4.02 or 5.

If your using 4.02:
- From the project selector choose Data CD.
- Then Drag and drop your mp3's in to the layout

If your using 5:
- Choose Make a Data CD then go to Data CD Project
- Then Drag and drop your mp3's in to the layout


All cd burning software will allow for burning straight mp3's to cd. You just need to go at it as if your were backing up files, cause that's really what yor doing.

the amount of mp3's in data format a cd can hold depends on a couple of factors:

A) The size of the MP3 (Higher qulity gives bigger file sizes)
B) The size of the CD

For general needs you don't need to go any higher than 192kbps. I personally find it a bit crisper than 128kbps but some people don't notice.

here are some examples

a 5 minute song encoded at 128kbps is roughly 4.5 MB in size
a 4 minute song encoded at 192kbps is roughly 5.0 MB in size

using this to do rough math:

a 74 minute cd holds 650MB of data(minus a bit for the table of contents and other stuff)s0:

at 128kbps - /4.5 = approx 144 songs * 5 minutes = 12hrs
at 192kbps - 650/5.0 = approx 130 songs * 5 minutes = 10.8 hrs

a 80 minute cd holds 700MB of data(minus a bit for the table of contents and other stuff)s0:

at 128kbps - 700/4.5 = approx 155 songs * 5 minutes = 13hrs
at 192kbps - 700/5.0 = approx 140 songs * 5 minutes = 11.6 hrs

So in answer to your question YES a cd can hold 10 hrs of music. I know i probably put way to much info into this, it comes from my job I'm currenlty working consumer tech support for a big PC manufacturer and people who call in want ALL of the information and won't settle for anything but.

My CD R's held 16 songs on them tops..and those things could hold like 700MB. I think it does convert it to WAV as it puts it onto the cd so it can be played in stereo's. Maybe if u had an MP3 player it would be able to hold more but mine doesnt, i am 99% sure it converts it to WAV to you can play it on a stereo or cd player, that is what mine does. FYI I have NeRo.
