Looking For Some New Sunglasses any reccomendations?

Well, im in the mood for some new sunglasses, and im looking for some reccomendations in the sub $200 range. Keep in mind, that im looking for function, and style, as i do fly, and using these glasses are pretty important. also looking for something with a metal frame.

    heres what ive owned

    oakley minutes(black on black)

oakley big square wire(black on black)

oakley half wires (silver frame, ice iridium lenses)

rayban aviatiors(chrome on chrome, sundown style ala top gun)

i like all of the afformentioned styles, and i love my raybans, but im not a fan of how dainty they are, with small wire construction and heavy glass. im pretty rough on my glasses, but the aviators are really comfortable and easy to use while flying and driving, since they are so thin, they fit under a headset quite easily.

    heres what ive been considering

spy silver shadow's. IM a huge fan of spy optics, and they are my choice of goggle for snowboarding, and id like to give their sunglasses a shot too, im just not sure they will look good on me.

oakley cross hairs. My buddy just picked up a pair of these and they seem pretty nice, but i have yet to try them on, and i feel as if ive beaten the oakley path to death. In quality in optics, spy and oakley are pretty neck and neck to my understanding.

SO, besides those 2, do you guys have any reccomendations?

I grab the first cool style POLARIZED shades I see at 7-11. I have a couple dozen now. Being less than $12 usually, I don't feel too bad when I sit on them in the truck.

You know, if you're going to go for cool sunglasses, you might as well go to the company that pioneered cool in sunglass form: Ray-Ban.

I love Ray-ban glasses. I had a pair recently break out of their normal warranty, and they fixed them for free anyways.

I have some Predator 2 (thick black plastic rim) and some metal frame ones, both with polarized lenses. I agree on the aviators, they have very thin frames, but they are AVIATOR glasses, not sports glasses.

I'm a big Bolle fan myself. I've owned a pair of Natrix, Pinnax, and 807 Wrap, all with polarized lenses and haven't paid more than $50 for either of them. They are really light weight and comfortable and they definetly do the job (I work out on the water all day during the summer so I need something that will protect my eyes)!

Whatever you decide, I would check out www.campmor.com. They have really awesome prices and that's where I've bought all three pairs of my Bolle's. Good luck!

I'd go with the Spy aviators, I like the silver aviator look.

My uncle lost his ray-bans last fall when we were ATVing in northern wisc. He had a general idea of which trails he lost them on, and they were rarely-ridden private trails with overgrown grass. The next day we were riding in the same area, and out of nowhere he stopped, got off his atv, and found his sunglasses in long grass. If I had to guess, there was a 1 in a million chance of finding them. ray-bans>*

They arn't overpriced, they are very cheap when you consider that they can take a RX lens. My Silhouette's cost over $400 with 20% discount. Then there was the $45 riveting fee. But in the long run its worth it. I've had these things for over 4 years I still love them, the lightest and strongest things I could get. I can hardly ever feel them on my face. I'd probably get a pair with darkened polarized lens but I don't wear sunglasses, ever.

The only problem I have with Ray-Ban is that they are historically heavier than other sunglasses. This leads to headaches for me.
I like Oakley, but they are expensive and I've had too many pairs break when they shouldn't have; however, their repair policy is UNEQUALED.

I now pretty much stick to Arnette though. I'm a Catfish fan, but I bought a pair of the Rage model and I haven't looked back. Now Oakley is my back up or for when I'm doing things that might break my glasses--since their repair policy is so awesome.

I was looking at the oakley website last night. Some nice stuff. I have always liked my different Oakleys. My only complaints are they are unwilling to send a part if you break your sun glasses. I guess you have to send it to them. If you break them and it has been dicontinued like in the case of my original blades the warrenty doesn't apply. And they are over priced. I still like them though.
