      that was all with a few firefox windows open, and winamp playing. i looked at the CPU useage and it was around 55%, superpi taking up around 49%... i take it thats because its a P4 with hyper-threading?

        I don't think SuperPi would take advantage of Hyperthreading though. Is it a pentium D?

          P4 630 3GHz w/ hyper-threading, 800 MHz FSB.

          thats what i was saying, i was wondering why it only used 40-50% of the processing power, and never topped the 50% mark.

            I wonder if your OS is trying to keep the load off the CPU, try setting the Utilization to high.

              hmm, i didnt even think about that... maybe ill try that after exams enough slacking.

                      turned it to high and then realtime, same result.

                      but, i have decided ill save the 32m file to my e-mail, open it at school (under someone elses name of course...) and send it to every printer i can

                        Turn off the second virtual core... I don't know how but it can be done.
