I want to get out of my apt lease...advice?

I have a few more months on my lease, but i am buying a home and dont want to do double payments for the last couple months. I spoke briefly with one of the leasing agents (not the property manager) and she said there is no getting out.

There is nothing physically wrong with the place and i have not had any issues, so i can't complain that they broke their end of the contract.

So i guess i may be stuck, but i know between the masses of AO there is a wealth of knowledge and i wasnt sure if you guys had any advice.

    thanx in advance

Ask them if you can buy yourself out of it for half of what is left. Most places will make such a deal rather than risking you simply not paying

Reread your lease I'll bet there is an escape clause there somewhere. The unfortunate part of that is the escape clause may cost you as much as the remaining rent. Also sometimes a situation change, such as buying a house, may be enough to get the management company to let you go with minimal notice usually at least 30 days.

Find someone who is willing to take over the lease (and the answer is no)

Have someone get stabbed at one of your parties, then have the dumbass partygoers convince the police that it was a murder plot, and that you're covering up for the stabber. This happened to my friend, the stabbee had to have emergency open heart surgery, and is still alive, and my friend simply got evicted.

I just hired my old land lord as a buyers agent for my house purchase. Amazing what a couple percent in the land lords pocket will do for your lease.

What lease? she says to me. She had it re rented in less than a month.

that unfortunately is not an option for me, but a good idea

i like the arson idea, but im not to fond of the shower rapes in prison.

You can always be a complete ****ing ******* to everyone around you: play Slipknot at 2 a.m. at max volume, use lots and lots of fireworks, walk around covered in animal blood and wielding a machete, etc.
