I got 7 vehicals under my belt in 7 years. Most of the time i had two or three vehicals at a time.

My first car i got when i was 15 (cant drive at ALL till 16 here) and slowly fixed it up to street legal and a bit more so i had a car the day i turned 16 ready to go. It was a 1988 Dodge Shadow Es Turbo. for the day it was a really quick little car with stock 160hp and with the mods i had done around 200hp (locked the turbo waste gate shut, high flow flomaster cat back exhuast, K&N intake and some variouse other goodies). 0-60 was accomplised in a very decent mid 7secs. It was a blast of a car and was tons of fun it was ALSO not a very common car and parts for it cost one HELL of a pretty penny. Now it was cheap on inshurance because as far as the inshurance company new it was just a stock K-car dodge shadow. BUt maintanece and Fuel economy was CRAP. Due to my mods I blew a head gasget on the car TWICE and the second time managed to even crack the head. after fixing all that my heavy foot got me introuble again when i blew the transmishion at witch point i sold it as i simply could not keep up with it cost wise.

When i sold that i bought my First Ranger and have since never looked back and have had three Ford Pickups on dodge Full Size Convershion Van and a VW car i bought to help with my Fuel costs of driving my old pickup. Then when i want to go fast i got a Bike witch is a HELL of a lot faster than most cars i have driven and that saying alot im a mehcanic i have driven ALOT OF CARS.
those 2.5 turbo motors will do that, i always wanted a GLH or a GLHS i'd settle with an omni with a swapped 2.5 turbo II motor

You definatley want the VR-4 or any AWD version. I had a Vr-4 galant and it was a hell of a sleeper. AWD would knock your head on the seat during a launch so hard, and it was devistating to a clutch.

Good to know that somone of Tom's status seeks "relief" from a sport he helped create. A sport now ruled by a single patent.

I bet it was pretty sweet

SCpoloRicker- To answer your question we just like doing it. No need to feel cool it just makes you feel good that you created it. I have dropped thousands on my A4 and it is no where near where I want it. I have a list with 22k in parts that I want so that means a boat load left to spend on my toy.

          +1 To that.

To some people, cars are just a way to go from point A to point B. But for others, including myself, a car is an extension of one's self, and it's a hobby (just as paintball is to us on this forum).

Truck Cars and bikes IS a HUGE part of my life. Not only am i a automotive enthusiast i also make my living repairing em as a Mehcanic.

I HAVE always loved toying with my cars and i suspect i always will. Not that being said i have never really owned anything fancy and never owned a NEW car. I always buy used (pretty safe doing so as again im a mehcanic i KNOW what to look for) and make the cars my own.

I have only ever bought one car that i everleft stock and i bought it purly to drive while i did some work to my truck at the time. BUT again i liked the car soo mutch i started fixing all its minor quirks and i still own that car and ironocaly the truck is not.

My current truck i bought due to needing to cut back on my automotive hobby (I bought my first house) so i had to chose between my Motorcycle or my Project Truck. I chose the bike and sold the truck and bought a smaller truck better suited for the task at hand. Its a 1996 Ford Ranger 3.0L v6 auto and 4x4. I already have new bigger tires comeing for it and a few exhuast plans for after the house stuff settels.

But as you can see shure i dump ALOT into cars BUT i have ALWAYS left money aside to buy a house. and as of next month i move to my FIRST house (with heated two car garage to support my auto hobby) pics willl come when i move in.

Right now auto and bike projects are on hold tillthings with my house settel. I have almost entirely quite paintballing (use the money i once had for that for my cars). At this point i have a list of $1200 worht of stuff im picking away at for my bike and a few hudred of stuff i want for the truck and lastly my LONG term project i PLAN to build a bike from scratch.

Do i spend way too mutch on cars indoubtably YES, Do i plan o stop HELL NO, do i do it for cool factor NO.
