at my school, someone built a gun in school

before i went to my current school, during the anthrax scare, some kid crushed up white sweet tarts on his desk...next thing you know, the school im at across town gets evacuated...but the gun thing, in its own way, brilliance. what was used? (not that ill do it, im the funny kid in the back of the class that constantly interrupts the "teachers"

it was back when there was a metalworking shop. someone managed to make a makeshift gun with a just a spring and few pieces of metal that was capable of shooting a .22. no frame and not much for a barrel, but it would work at short range.

Man, that never happens at my school. I don't understand how we should be any different since we're a private school. Yes, we have a higher concentration of the brighter kids because we have to take an entrance exam to get in. But there are still some screwed up kids here. We still have some kids who are a little off beat or angry. Intelligence doesn't mean you're not insane or full of conflict... in fact, most intellectuals and thinkers have been really wacked out. I just wrote a paper on Robert Frost for AP English. The man was an artist with poetry and metaphor, but he had more mental problems than you could shake a stick at. I think about it sometimes. It's never happened at any private school I've been at.

I do know that if someone pulled that crap I would flip out on them. I can't understand these people who hide under desks and stay in the room. I'd try to either get out or take out one of the kids and grab his gun. We all saw how fast the cops responded at Columbine. Obviously it's unrealistic to think you can run up to a kid and Bruce Lee his gun out of his hand like in a movie, but if I had to choose between trying to hide in a room and let myself get gunned down or organize a group to fight back, I'd choose the latter. It's like the people in the 4th flight on 9/11. They chose to fight back instead of let themselves get killed. They didn't make it, but they potentially save others' lives. If I'm gonna go, that's how I'm gonna do it.

im with you, screw hiding. id rather get shot fighting than cowering. If i cowered,I'd look at St Peter in the eye and say "when a kid brought a gun to my school, i got under my desk, put my head between my knees, and kissed my a$$ good-bye."

I think the kids that do this stuff are sometimes the better off preppy white people. ive noticed this thing through private and public school. its not always the thug, the goth the loaner, scary yet funny kid(such as myself).

Its all the lame parts of goth without any of what you could call hard core. Its because of emo clowns that the only REAL music being commercially pandered nowadays is The Darkness or the hidden by mtv albums by Electric 6. I mean really, nuts on your bedpost?
