The highest I've ever had is 101, but I don't get sick that much. My step brother on the other hand, has hit 106.8 before. Of course, he had cancer . . . cheater

Hehe same here. I just dont get sick much either. My normal temp is like 97.6 rather than 98.6 though.
The last time I was sick was just a 24 hr virus with hot sweats and I would puke during the sweat part, immediately after was chills. Didn't bother to take a temperature. I usually need to be sick for over a day before bothering to take a temp. Unless its some unholy hell of body aches and fever.

Just remember kids, menigitis will kill you in three days untreated.

evaporation cools the skin, but isnt that stuff being absorbed into the skin a bad thing?
It is, it can poison you by being absorbed into the blood stream through the skin. The fumes aren't good for you either. Cold baths should be avoided as well, they can cause you to shiver, which will raise your body temperature. Tepid baths are the best for this, sponge baths are better.

105* it was after surgery and my body wasn't taking to kindly to the plate and 11 screws they just put in my arm. It took me a 4 day hospital stay to get it back to normal.

I'm pretty sure my cousin (Oneworld) takes the cake on this one.
I can't remember what he hit, but it was nuts.
The very existence of flamethrowers proves that sometime, somewhere, someone said to themselves. 'You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

104.5 while on a border patrol in Germany during winter. An alreat was called during the patrol making an evac impossible and I had to continue on foot for 20 miles in gear to a link up point for pick up. I was completely delirious and do not remember much of it. Why did they take my rifle away? LOL By the time we reached the extraction point I was so drenched in sweat so many times over and over that the fever broke. Shortest and worse fever I ever had

I'll make it a point the next time my three year old runs a fever to challenge his pediatrician with your comment when i call him for advice then.

You should probably qoute the person that is talking to you and not yourself. And my dad was a family med. doctor. I'm pretty sure he knows what he's talking about. I mean I could be way off and he was just trying to kill me. But since he's my dad, has a medical degree, and one of the smartest people I know. I'm pretty sure I'm gunna listen to him instead of someone on an Interwebs forum.
