AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
Dragonball tea is awesome. It's a mild green tea that is hand-rolled into little balls(hence the name). It's a great tea for the end of the day to just sit and enjoy. I have to go to the asian market to get it where I live.
Being a highschooler, I still live with my first-gen Asian-American parents. My dad drinks imported red and black tea by the gallon, and brews with leaves. Its so fricken expensive, but it tastes really nice. Tea > coffee, at least in our house.
We pick it up from Toronto Chinatown every few months, otherwise we have friends in Taiwan or China send some over. Toronto has a very large chinatown (I think its like 20% Asian population?)
I drink plain 'ol lipton with honey when I'm too lazy to brew the leaves though. Best part about asian tea is that you don't have to add anything to it.
Thataboy, it's better for you than coffee. A nice hot mug of tea will start your day right! You get the caffeine buzz too!
That is not true at all. The only real proven negitive affect of drinking a lot of coffee is reduced amounts of calcium in your bones. Coffee also has an antioxidant, which Americans seem avoid getting from other less appealing foods.

What are the proven negative effects of drinking a lot of tea?

None that I know of, except for pregnant women drinking green tea which may cause spina bifida or other birth defects in babies. Also I don't believe regular tea has any antioxidants, although green tea and black tea do, but not at the levels that coffee has them.
If anything, it's the caffiene in the tea that causes it to be a diuretic, just like coffee. Not really a negative side effect. It just means you get a bit more excercise hitting the head.

Yes and No. Caffiene is indeed a diuretic (so is alcohol). However tea, coffee, and most other caffinated (and alcoholic) drinks contain far more water in them than the caffeine (or alcohol) will cause you to expel.
So, to get the same effect as drinking water you DO need to take in more. However, the water requirements for the average person are HIGHLY over stated and most people get more than enough liquid through their food intake.
That is unless you're exercising heavily. But in that case, the misconception or over stated factoid is the requirement for electrolytes (or the requirement for over priced "sports" drinks).
Another interesting fact: you can become seriously ill by drinking too much water..
